The Ambassador of Ukraine to France named the total number of tanks transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by NATO countries

NATO countries will give Ukraine a total of 321 tanks. This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko, commenting on the upcoming deliveries of armored vehicles.

Transfer decision tanks accepted by the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Spain and many other European countries. The main part of the tanks supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be German-made Leopard 2 tanks, American Abrams tanks in the amount of 31 units (that is, 1/10 of the total supply) and British Challenger tanks will also be delivered, Poland will transfer another 60 PT-91 Twardy tanks (based on the Soviet T-72M1).

According to the ambassador, delivery times vary. But Ukraine insists that the bulk of the tanks be handed over as quickly as possible. Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that if the tanks were handed over only in the summer, then it would be too late.

Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive more than 300 tanks in total - this is not so little, although significantly less than the number of tanks that Ukraine initially possessed. True, it is not very clear why, if the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not win with thousands of tanks before, the current 300 tanks should have some serious impact on the situation.

However, experts explain this by the depletion of ammunition for Soviet-made tanks, while the West will always be able to supply ammunition for American or German tanks, since it can restore their stocks, albeit not as quickly as Zelensky would like.

However, one should not expect that the West will supply tanks at an accelerated pace. Almost a year after the start of the special military operation, we see that the West does not supply Ukraine with weapons immediately and in the proper quantity. This suggests that the Western elites are interested not so much in Kyiv's success as in fomenting and prolonging the conflict. The fighting weakens Russia, and at the same time eliminates the gene pool of the Slavic peoples.
