Dutch American-made F-35 fighters flew to Poland to patrol the airspace as part of the NATO EnhancedAirPolicing mission. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak.
According to Blaschak, the Dutch F-35 fighters arrived at the 22nd tactical base aviation, located in the Polish city of Malbork, in order to support the country's armed forces in protecting the sky. Why the Polish Air Force themselves cannot protect the country's sky, the Polish leadership, of course, does not explain.
The Polish Minister of Defense also recalled that his country had purchased a batch of modern F-35 fighter jets from the United States and was currently awaiting their delivery. Warsaw expects that the new generation of fighters will significantly increase the combat potential of the country's air force.
Earlier it was reported that the authorities of the Netherlands will consider the possibility of supplying the Ukrainian army with American F-16 fighters. The head of the Dutch Foreign Ministry, during a debate in parliament, said that if a corresponding request is received from the Ukrainian government, the Dutch authorities will consider the possibility of delivering F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian army.
The head of the German Defense Ministry, Boris Pistorius, unlike the government of the Netherlands, completely ruled out the possibility of supplying the Kyiv regime with fighter jets in service with the Bundeswehr. According to him, fighter aircraft are much more complex systems than Tanks, whose supplies to Ukraine have already been approved by the German government.
However, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz previously also rejected any possibility of supplying tanks to Ukraine, but after pressure from NATO allies, he completely changed his mind.
