The Russian Foreign Ministry expelled the Latvian ambassador without waiting for the completion of his diplomatic mission
The Russophobic statements of the Latvian authorities regarding Russia did not go unnoticed, Moscow expelled the Latvian ambassador, he was ordered to leave Russian territory within two weeks. This is stated in the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Today, January 27, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Latvia Dacija Rutke was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who expressed a strong protest in connection with Riga's decision to lower the level of Russian-Latvian relations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Latvia of total Russophobia and, without waiting for the deadlines indicated earlier, sent the ambassador of the republic home.
the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Moscow emphasized that the consequences for the current situation fall on the Russophobic authorities of the Baltic countries and their owners from the United States.
Earlier, the Latvian authorities ordered Russian Ambassador Mikhail Vanin to leave the country by February 24, and the Latvian ambassador also had to leave Moscow before that date. Latvia lowered the level of diplomatic relations with Russia in solidarity with Ukraine and Estonia and Lithuania. Russia is also expelling the Estonian ambassador, he must leave Russia by February 7th.
The decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry is absolutely correct, it is no longer possible to maintain diplomatic relations with the limitrophes at the same level, given the level of Russophobia in these countries.
