The head of the Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have six systems to combat drones

Currently, Ukraine has six special drones - "catchers drones”, which are used to combat Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. This was stated by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, whose words are quoted by the Ukrainian press.

According to the official, all anti-UAV systems used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine were purchased in the United States and represent the most modern means used to protect American strategic facilities, including energy infrastructure. According to Fedorov, a special complex of radars and jamming devices detects and blocks enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, launching their own drones.

We are talking about the Fortem DroneHunter F700. This radar-controlled autonomous drone has artificial intelligence and is capable of reaching speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour. It is designed to intercept and land enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Ministry of Digital Development and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have high hopes for such systems, since Russia is now increasingly using drones to reconnaissance air defense systems and strike at military facilities and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

However, it is doubtful that the use of such systems will become widespread in Ukraine, and a few “drone catchers” will not make much of a difference in the context of massive attacks. But Ukrainian leaders, as always, find some "miraculous" views weapons or means of communication and begin to consider them as a means of achieving victory over the enemy. Then the excitement subsides and it turns out that there is no special help from them.

Probably it is necessary to install a pulse generator on ours, which, when communication with the operator was lost, gave out high-voltage pulses in order to drag a nearby drone with it.

This American contraption is designed to catch other quadrocopters, and will not be effective against impact drones and large kamikazes. It's more like fighting bullies.

The UAV is now already drawn to a special kind of troops. And the overall success of any operation depends on air supremacy at the level of small UAVs. I have not yet seen our drone for gaining air supremacy at low altitudes. And he really needed yesterday.

I have not seen drones among small UAVs (quadcopters) to gain air supremacy. Today, among them there is one method - cheapness and mass character. The American unit is not for war, but to prevent hooliganism and terrorism, he himself is too large and therefore vulnerable to use on the front line. The fight against small things is still going on mainly by radio-electronic methods, perhaps lasers will be effective for this, because. You don't need a lot of little things - the main thing is to get there. The battles of small drones among themselves are still reminiscent of the collisions of the first unarmed biplanes, when the pilots fired at each other with revolvers and the like.
