If Germany does not extend the life of nuclear power plants, energy tariffs will double

Former member of the Bundestag, and now head of the Public Utilities Association, Ingbert Liebing, said that already this year the tariff for final German consumers for energy could jump sharply. We are talking about doubling the price of gas and electricity. As the official clarified, extending the life of the nuclear power plant will be the only way to mitigate energy tariffs.

At the same time, the chairman of the Association of Public Utilities of Germany urged the population not to reassure themselves with a possible decrease in wholesale gas prices. In this regard, he also categorically disagreed with the position of consumer rights advocates that it is through the fault of utilities that the overestimation of the cost of energy resources occurs. He connected the increase solely with the current prices prevailing on the spot gas market, which, of course, can hardly be called profitable.

According to the German television channel N-TV, Liebing was in solidarity with the idea of extending the work of German nuclear power plants. In his opinion, even further steps in the development of renewable energy sources in the next 3-4 years will not be able to adequately cover the needs of Germany in order to somehow ease the tension that has developed in the energy market. According to the former politician, due to the operation of the nuclear power plant, electricity prices will be reduced by an average of 8-12%.

Recall that all the efforts of the European Commission to develop and implement the REPower EU plan to accelerate the refusal of energy supplies from Russia, according to which the EU intends to gain energy independence by 2027, remains on paper. As the Russian authorities have noted more than once, Europe has lost access to cheap energy resources from the Russian Federation, which has already had an extremely adverse effect not only on the economies of member countries, but also on the well-being of their citizens. Often, EU countries continue to buy Russian energy resources, but under the guise of gas and oil from other countries.

    They will extend it, but everything is not done as quickly as cats are born. Only Western people have not yet realized that they are just sheep that need to be sheared and will be sheared, albeit democratic sheep.

      In fact, there is exactly the same amount of gas left in the world economy as it was, changes can only be measured by a few percent per year. And ALL this gas went to the needs of the world economy (otherwise there would simply be no need to extract it - at the level of elementary common sense, not counting the concern for minimizing costs, which is mandatory in business). Therefore, in order for Europe to compensate for the huge volume of Russian gas that fell out - and this is the second most efficient energy source after oil - it was simply necessary to squeeze it out of someone else in the world, thereby simply depriving this volume of gas from someone else. another. Who has?
      They decided to squeeze Pakistan first ... obviously by next winter there will be someone else ..
      Under the contract, which is valid from 2017 to 2032, the company must supply LNG to Pakistan on a monthly basis.
      The Italian oil and gas company Eni announced the disruption of the planned February 2023 supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan due to force majeure.
      According to Eni:

      -- the LNG delivery disruption in February is beyond Eni's reasonable control and was caused by force majeure;

      -- Eni does not benefit in any way from the current situation;

      -- all previous LNG supply disruptions encountered by Eni were due to an LNG supplier failing to meet agreed obligations.

      Under the contract, which is valid from 2017 to 2032, the company must supply LNG to Pakistan on a monthly basis.

      Pakistan is facing problems buying spot LNG shipments amid rising global gas prices, and the supply of this energy resource under long-term contracts is not enough to meet growing demand in the country.

      In 2021, Pakistan found itself in a difficult situation - traders preferred to pay fines, but redirect LNG shipments destined for it to more attractive markets.

      In 2022, this problem has worsened.

      Instead of endlessly procrastinating domestic media and TV news from the EU about what tariffs they will have there and how bad it will be for local natives, coupled with industry, Russia a year ago, at least, should have started creating comfortable conditions for its industry and trying to attract Western business on its territory.

    The United States did everything to make Europe find itself in a big "dupe" and they did it well.

    this year, the tariff for final German consumers on energy products may jump sharply
    That's fine. The more problems there are in Germany, which has gathered under the leadership of its politicians to repeat the "throw to the East" with the goal of "Russia's victory on the battlefield" the better. Germany itself has chosen the path it will follow in the coming years. But let the Germans think where this path will lead.

    Russia turned out to be a supplier of cheap fuel to Ukraine

    Reuters: Russia turned out to be a supplier of LPG to Ukraine through Latvia and Lithuania

    The increase in supplies of Russian liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LPG) to the Baltic countries by more than two times is explained by the fact that buyers resell part of the volumes to Ukraine, and Ukrainian companies choose this source of fuel because of its cheapness. About it with reference to sources writes Reuters.

    In Germany, they already wash the dishes, then they wash clothes in this water and pour this water into the kettle, wink wink
    All of them will extend and open coal mines. The most paradoxical thing is that the Greens are now in power and it is they who are the founders of this mess
