“I don’t see any problems in this”: Estonian Minister of Defense confirmed the intention to transfer 155-mm cluster-type shells to Ukraine
The information that appeared the day before and was voiced by the Al Arabiya TV channel about a certain European country intending to supply cluster munitions to Ukraine was confirmed, Estonia will act as a supplier. In Tallinn, they are not going to hide this, but they did not disclose the details of the transaction.
Ukraine begged the West for deliveries of cluster munitions. Kyiv has repeatedly demanded the transfer of artillery shells of this type, saying that with their help it intends to "compensate for the numerical superiority of the Russian army." Representatives of the Zelensky regime knocked on the thresholds of the offices of military officials in the United States, but were refused there, since American laws do not prohibit the use of cluster munitions, but prohibit their transfer to other countries.
Almost a year later, help to Kyiv came from a completely different direction, Estonia will supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with cluster artillery shells of 155-mm caliber. This type of ammunition has been in service with the self-defense forces of the republic since the 90s of the last century, they were purchased from Germany, which previously produced them, but currently does not produce them and refused to use them.
- said the Minister of Defense of the Republic Hanno Pevkur.
Delivery details are not disclosed, so neither the scope of delivery nor the timing of the transfer of ammunition is known. It is worth noting that the transfer will take place only if it is approved by Germany. Estonia seems to have sent an application, we will wait for Berlin's decision.
