- says the publication.
It is worth noting that the Norwegian army is armed with 32 Leopard 2A4NO tanks, which will be removed from service and replaced by more modern South Korean-assembled vehicles. In Oslo, they plan to replace German Leopard 2A4 tanks with South Korean K2 Black Panthers modified for use in northern latitudes. Replacement is planned from 2025.
Norway purchased used Leopard 2A4 tanks in 2001 from the Netherlands to replace older Leopard 1A5NO tanks. Delivery began that same year and ended in 2002. The tanks were slightly modified, all Dutch equipment was replaced with standard Leopard 2 equipment. But the Norwegians did not succeed in replacing the Leopard 2A4NO with the Leopard 2A7, the K2 Black Panther variant received more votes.
