The Pentagon spokesman said that the United States recommended that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine give an order to retreat from Bakhmut

Details of talks between American security officials (heads of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, including the CIA) and representatives of the Kyiv regime continue to appear. Recall that a few days ago, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was summoned to Poland, where Mark Milli, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke with him.
Information leaked to the press says that the American general called on Zaluzhny to carry out the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Bakhmut (Artemivsk).
The France-Presse article cites a statement by an unnamed official of the American administration, who confirmed the appeal of the American security forces to representatives of the Ukrainian command about Bakhmut. The article says that the United States believes that further attempts to hold Bakhmut interfere with preparations for a large-scale offensive, which was planned for the spring. Therefore, it is necessary to retreat from Bakhmut.
From the material:
With further attempts by the Ukrainian troops to hold Bakhmut, Russia has an opportunity to buy time, preventing Ukraine from preparing for the spring offensive. The reason is that in this direction the Russian army has more forces and means, including artillery.
It was noted that so far Ukraine does not have such resources that would allow it to simultaneously keep Artyomovsk under its control and prepare for an offensive. Additionally, it was indicated that Ukraine was recommended to wait for a new package of military assistance, which includes, among other things, the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and the Stryker armored personnel carrier.
