Today, the eighth meeting of the so-called contact group on defense assistance to Ukraine began at the US military base in the German city of Ramstein. The summit brought together the heads of the military departments of fifty countries and the leadership of NATO with one goal - to discuss ways and means of increasing military assistance to Kyiv.
On the eve of the summit and at it itself, many Western politicians, defense ministers and heads of state have already voiced theses about the need to increase supplies weapons to Ukraine, including modern heavy weapons, in order to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine defeat the Russian army.
The militaristic statements of the European and American allies of Kyiv were commented on by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The official representative of the Russian diplomatic department, Maria Zakharova, answered journalists about the Ukrainian crisis on the agency’s website.
Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova recalled that the main topic at the meeting in Ramstein was the supply of modern air defense systems and basic tanks NATO armies. The day before, the United States presented sending a new batch of weapons to Kyiv in the amount of $2,5 billion.
The head of the State Department, Anthony Blinken, called for providing Ukraine with "everything necessary to achieve success on the battlefield." The Biden administration has seriously started talking about the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the right to strike at the Crimea with American weapons, which the Pentagon is ready to supply to Kyiv.
Zakharova drew attention to the recent statement by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who called on NATO countries to give Kyiv any weapons it can use.
We regard all this as an open provocative incitement of the West and an increase in the stakes in the conflict, which will inevitably lead to an increase in casualties and a dangerous escalation
- warned the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry of the Kyiv allies.
The general conclusion from the warnings of the Russian diplomat can be drawn as follows. It's time for the Western allies of the Kyiv regime to turn on the instinct of self-preservation, which is inherent even in the lower forms of life, especially in a rational person. After all, continuing to fan the flames of a military conflict in Europe more and more, the West runs the risk of eventually being absorbed by it.
At the same time, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, Western politicians hypocritically express concern about the victims of the conflict in Ukraine, but do not react in any way to the shelling of civilians living in the territory of the Russian Federation by Ukrainian troops. And the lives of Ukrainians, who die en masse at the front and are subjected to violence by Nazi formations and power structures of the Kyiv junta, do not care about the West at all, Zakharova noted.
Kyiv and its American and European masters do not spare either the population of Ukraine or the Ukrainian military personnel, whom they are ready to sacrifice for their own greed and an irresistible desire to harm Russia.
Zakharova concluded.
