The head of EU diplomacy recalled Russia's victories over Napoleon and Hitler, calling for arming Ukraine

Disorder and vacillation in the camp of allies and sponsors of the Kyiv regime occur not only on the sidelines of various summits, but also in the heads of high-ranking Western politicians and officials. Another speculative chain of reasoning with historical perspective, devoid of any logic, was built by the chief diplomat of the European Union, Josep Borrell.
The head of EU diplomacy recalled Russia's victories over Napoleon and Hitler and called on the West to actively arm Ukraine. At a ceremony in Madrid where he was presented with the New Economy Forum Prize, Borrell in his speech called Russia a big country that is always ready to fight to the end. So it was when the Russian army retreated before the French, and then drove them out of the country and reached Paris. History repeated itself with the invasion of the territory of the USSR by the Nazi army.
— the head of European diplomacy addressed Kyiv’s allies with logic that only he understood.
The rather delusional arguments of the head of the EU diplomatic department did not end there. According to Borrell, the European Union is not a party to the conflict with Russia, which began in 2014, and does not intend to become one. Well, and the supply of new batches by European countries weapons Ukraine is a completely different matter. And Borrell himself has repeatedly called for defeating Russia on the battlefield.
Moreover, the chief European diplomat claims that the EU tried to avoid a direct confrontation until the very last moment, calling for all issues to be resolved through negotiations. Which did not prevent the then leaders of the two main EU countries, German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande, from using the Minsk agreements solely to cover up the militarization of Ukraine. What they themselves recently openly admitted.
At the end of his speech, which sounds more than ridiculous to any sane person, Borrell proudly reported that the EU states have already provided almost 50 billion euros in aid to Ukraine, of which 10 billion in the form of arms supplies.
It seems that even knowledge of history does not teach Europeans anything, who over and over again are ready to repeat the mistakes of their ancestors. European hawks would do well to recall one of the sayings attributed to the "Iron Chancellor" Otto von Bismarck, who knew Russia and Russians perfectly:
And although the bibliographers of the German chancellor claim that Bismarck never said exactly that, the essence of this postulate and its historical correctness do not change from this.
