NATO deploys AWACS aircraft to Romania to monitor the "military activity" of the Russian army

The activity of Russian troops in the Donetsk direction, the loss of the Soledar Armed Forces and the threat of Bakhmut's encirclement seriously alarmed the main sponsors of the Zelensky regime - the United States and NATO. According to the press service of the alliance, a decision was made to deploy AWACS reconnaissance aircraft closer to the Ukrainian border.

NATO intends to more closely monitor "Russian military activity" around the clock, for this, three aircraft of the AWACS system are being transferred to Romania from Germany. They should arrive on January 17, they will be deployed somewhere in the Bucharest region, on the territory of one of the military bases. According to preliminary data, the mission to monitor Russian troops, in particular aviation and missiles, designed for several weeks.

(...) AWACS systems will support a strengthened alliance presence in the region and monitor Russian military activities (...) there should be no doubt about NATO's determination to defend and protect every inch of Allied territory

NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said.

Previously, AWACS aircraft circled mainly over the territory of Poland, following the actions of Russian aviation. When any aircraft is detected, the crew reports to NATO headquarters, from where the information goes to Kyiv, allowing the Ukrainian command to quickly respond to an air threat from the Russian Aerospace Forces.

NATO emphasizes that AWACS systems are capable of detecting Russian aircraft at a range of "hundreds of kilometers", which makes them "a key means of deterrence and defense."

Where are the vaunted electronic warfare that have been promoting the last 10 years? Which supposedly can jam for thousands of kilometers? Why don't these AWACSs blind?

Only long-wave communication works for thousands of kilometers, and who needs it, with an information transfer rate of a couple of kilobauds, when a digital signal is transmitted to a satellite at a speed of 1-2-3-4-5 gigabits via VHF or microwave? A narrowly directed antenna, the transmission is in packets, the avax flies outside the EW range, even if it enters the suppression zone, after 5 minutes it will leave it and merge all the accumulated information with a short pulse

Weapons, military equipment, military equipment, instructors, military personnel under the guise of "volunteers", a full package of intelligence ... - and this is not direct participation in the conflict?

I would like to know that our aviation or ground services are not capable of putting the most severe interference on AWACS radars?

They will not put interference ahead of time, so as not to give out their knowledge of the ability and ability to jam AWACS ... if there is one ... it will be required for large operations
But the KS-172 missile that accidentally flew in even without being shot down ... it would be more interesting
Well, throwing a demonstrative MiG-31 closer to that place

I can say for the fleet - there are no means to interfere with AWACS.

But it has always been incomprehensible to me why DLRO airships are not being built? In construction, it is no more expensive than an airplane, and kerosene almost does not burn, it hangs above the clouds - you can even power it with electricity from the ground on a leash and by cable.

yes, at least just hang the antenna on the airship to improve the viewing range, it’s also not clear to me.

And you sit down with a pencil and paper and calculate the weight of the AWACS airship with equipment, a crew of 8-10 people and a cable of the appropriate section and length. I can tell you the power consumption of the radar: consider 60 kW without taking into account communications and navigation equipment. How much will a meter of power cable weigh? What section should be taken? Think with a pencil.

Horrible how much copper, but 400 rubles per kilo !!!! But seriously, attach supporting balloons to the cable, and in Leningrad they tied a barrage balloon to a barrage balloon and launched it for five kilometers.

What to count, there are tables, for 380V 59.4kW you need a cable with a cross section of only 25kV mm, a quadcopter can easily lift a 3x25 kilometer per kilometer, and here is a whole airship

        Like these ones?

Maybe because of the climatic conditions in the middle lane. request
And the thing is really useful, it can see the KR flying at an altitude of 10m for 600-700 km.

Oh, now our partners are building a network-centric control system ..... they are not preparing for Bradley and other equipment?

Specifically, Bradley is complete slag, from a 30mm burst from a cannon it will fall apart into components, an anti-personnel mine will disable it, the Americans are not fools, they sawed dough on Bradley, but they developed and are making another BMP for themselves, I don’t remember the model, but I’m too lazy to look, so they merge completely unsuccessful Bradleys for skakuans and other Papuans, the T-90 has a height of 2230mm, well, it was originally, now more, because of the new tower, or maybe vice versa, smaller, BMP-3 has 2300mm, Bradley has 2960mm, I sit high, I look far away , but it is also visible from afar and more difficult to miss

but is it possible to shoot them down with a "random missile with 300" accidentally straying off course?

Most likely, AFCS aircraft will fly over the neutral waters of the Black Sea around Crimea and beyond. If our aircraft with the appropriate equipment accompanies them at a minimum distance, then a fairly high level of interference can be created that interferes with anything to track
By the way, isn't Romania buying our gas at a preferential price?

And we actually have nothing to transfer, praise the democrats, who convinced the people in the 90s and 2000s that we have no one to fight with.
