The German concern Rheinmetall launched the production of the latest KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles in Hungary

In Hungary, the production of the latest German infantry fighting vehicles KF41 Lynx began, a joint venture was launched by the German concern Rheinmetall. This was reported by the press service of the concern.

Hungary is the first country to order the German KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. The conclusion of a contract between Rheinmetall and the Hungarian Ministry of Defense for the supply of the KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle was reported in 2020. The contract included the supply of 218 new Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicles, of which Budapest receives 46 armored vehicles until 2023, and the remaining 172 vehicles must be assembled at a joint venture built on the territory of the country. In addition, the agreement provides for the delivery of nine Buffalo ARVs on the chassis tank Leopard 2, simulators, as well as spare parts, ammunition and 16 trucks.

And so, on January 12, 2023, the Rheinmetall concern announces the launch of the production of the KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle in Hungary. While the Hungarians will assemble the towers for the BMP, as well as individual elements, full-fledged production will begin in July this year. A high-tech plant is being built in the west of the country in Zalaegerszeg, it is part of the ZALAZone industrial complex.

The Hungarian Ministry of Defense received the first KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles in October last year. In the version for the Hungarian army, in addition to the 35-mm automatic gun, the combat vehicle received a NATTER remote-controlled combat module with a 7,62-mm machine gun, designed for installation on trucks. In addition, all vehicles of the first series are equipped with Rheinmetall active protection systems, and the ROSY rapid smoke / masking system is also installed on the tower. Earlier it was reported that the Hungarian KF41 Lynx will receive a manned turret with a 30-mm cannon. The capacity of the KF41 infantry fighting vehicle is 12 people - three crew members and nine paratroopers.

The combat weight of this infantry fighting vehicle is of course impressive 44 tons, the T-90 tank has a combat weight of 46.5 tons.
Actually, the Leopard-2 tank was taken as the basis. We have so many tanks in storage, which is why there are no programs to convert them into heavy infantry fighting vehicles. Take T-62, T-55. Space for engineering solutions.

it is probably cheaper to create a new infantry fighting vehicle than to re-equip a tank from conservation. In an infantry fighting vehicle, an engine is needed in the front, in a tank it is in the back. so imagine "whether the game is worth the candle." Another thing is that on the T90 platform it was necessary to create a heavy infantry fighting vehicle (non-floating) a long time ago. now they would work in tandem with the T90M.

At one time, the Jews, having captured a large number of our tanks from Egypt, converted the T-55 into a heavy Akhzarit infantry fighting vehicle.

Praises are sung, what a cool car, how great, what good fellows. What's stopping you from doing that. Hull and chassis for the basis, a new engine, modern filling and not every RPG, not every gun is tough

Until recently, there was a popular theory about the "modernization" of mobile phones by replacing the caps with the same (cenzored) but of a different color.

I think the price in the range of current price tags will be prohibitive ... the process is slow ...
And if they re-equip from Leopards ... then leopards will decrease

These are new vehicles, not converted tanks. The design is based on the Leopard, but the Lynx is a newly built IFV. The contracted number of vehicles and lead times have not been updated due to the war.
The design of the Puma has a number of flaws, mainly due to the overuse of technology. The Lynx has been optimized for rigorous combat needs, and extra features have been removed. No other connection to Puma.

In pursuit of security ... and the creation of a heavy infantry fighting vehicle, the price tag of an infantry fighting vehicle has become in the area of \u10b\uXNUMXbthe tank ... weight too ... but it still carries no more than XNUMX people, and this is partly its meaning ... delivery of infantry to the LBS and supporting it with gun fire

In addition, all vehicles of the first series are equipped with active protection systems manufactured by Rheinmetall,

What kind of complex is this? In my opinion, only Israel, the Russian Federation and the USA have it (not finalized yet). The author apparently has his own sources)) Maybe passive, when using dynamic protection?

BMP of a healthy person. We would like this. The silhouette combines German power and Soviet ergonomics, does not look as vertical as Bradley. Armament and active protection are impressive. And the ability to quickly expand production inspires serious concern.

Israeli developments have been tested by half a century of hostilities. The high security of the crew and troops is a very correct approach. The life of a soldier is the main value in the conditions of an unceasing kneading. Why is it always quicker to figure out what and how to do and are ready for a now clearly long, conventional war? There is no doubt that the geyropa will be dragged into it soon. And they will be ready.
