The 'Inconvenient' Truth About French Colonialism in Africa

Recently, French leader Emmanuel Macron has been trying to play the role of one of the main defenders of democratic values, vehemently condemning Russia's special operation in Ukraine. At the same time, France itself is far from “white and fluffy”.

It's no secret that, from the 60th century until the end of the XNUMXs, the current country of "romance and croissants" mercilessly robbed its colonies in Africa, dooming the inhabitants of the continent to hunger and poverty. However, little has changed today.

France is still a predator country, and its authorities are exploiters. What is the enslaving agreement worth, according to which 14 countries of the African continent must keep 85% of their financial reserves in the French National Bank.

At the same time, if any of the above-mentioned states expresses dissatisfaction and goes against the "French partners", it will immediately lose its gold and foreign exchange reserves, which will be instantly frozen. And this is not the worst option.

The thing is that after the end of the era of French colonialism, Paris in Africa conducted about three dozen military special operations. The last one took place in 2014.

By the way, the 8-year "lull" happened for a reason. It was from 2014 that the well-known PMC "indicated" its presence in Africa. Therefore, Africans often go to rallies with Russian flags, asking for support from our country, and France, in turn, hates Russia for this.

In order to understand why (more precisely, at whose expense) France became a “developed democratic country”, it is enough to quote the statement of its 22nd president.

Without Africa, France would be reduced to the level of third world countries

Jacques Chirac once said.

To this day, Paris uses various legal and bureaucratic tricks to rob Africans of their untold wealth, dooming the inhabitants of these countries to poverty.

At the same time, the president of the predatory country regularly accuses Russia of "barbarism" and violation of human rights.

Not an article, but a note in a wall newspaper.
There are materials for more than one volume.

On one "supposedly human rights" YouTube channel, they like to chat, they say, France is "white and fluffy", and "Russia is bad."
I noted that wasn't it in Algeria that "clean" France was marked by bloody punitive operations ?? When the "hamsters" began to yell at me, that it was a long time ago.
I reminded them of Mali, especially since YouTube once gave me videos from there as a recommendation, where the "Foreign Legion" fought with the locals. And the footage does not show that women and children are "grateful to French democracy." That evening, a few years ago, using translators, I watched dozens of videos where "the French bang bang, bring democracy to Africans" in our 21st century.

Is it not in Algeria that "clean" France was marked by bloody punitive operations

In fairness, both sides were good there .. Read about the affairs of the TNF - after all, the animals were rare, they cut right and left everyone who expressed at least some disagreement with them .. Entire villages. And not the colonialists, but their own compatriots .. On their hands there is bloodshishchschschi - perhaps more and more tangibly than on the French ..

Yes, and before the capture by France - Algeria was still that place .. Naked pirates who really got the whole Mediterranean. So there were never any white and fluffy sufferers there.

That evening, a few years ago, using translators, I watched dozens of videos where "the French bang bang, bring democracy to Africans" in our 21st century.

Just in the 21st century, France, of all the colonial "empires", is the most cruel and big lover, using "bang-bang" methods to bring democracy to Africa. Côte de Ivoire, Abidjan On April 1, 2011, I remember well (I was then in Abidjan) when the French military landed in the city of Abidjan, allegedly "for the protection of French citizens", UN troops took control of the Abidjan airport, on the night of April 5, the UN peacekeeping contingent, together with the French army, attacked Gbagbo's presidential palace. The blow was delivered by Mi-24 helicopters, which were part of to the Ukrainian contingent of peacekeeping troops. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation "as always" expressed concern that the peacekeeping troops took a direct part in the military conflict, but this did not affect the further development of events. The massacre was cruel, the people in the streets and squares were shot mercilessly and crushed by tank tracks.
The innocent French are punished severely, in all countries where they stuck their noses, although legally the African countries (former colonies of France) were freed, but de facto the French yoke did not become easier. The hatred of these countries for the French is already at the genetic level, but Emmanuel Macron, a lover of old women, tries not to notice this, "you are our faithful peacemaker".

Yes, the French planted their "democracy" with fire and sword. Since the 6th century! Basically, because on the entire planet, there are only 1 so-called. oil monsters! And XNUMX of them in Algiers!!!!! This is how frogs and their lysopops in developed countries are justified. But Her Majesty History says that THEY HAVE NO EXCUSE!!! Remember the road in the desert, where on both sides stood stakes with people impaled on them, dying a slow painful death ... And other atrocities of the foreign legion! Atrocities even against loyal tribes!
On the other hand, the native Algerians also have their own skeleton in the closet, and not just one. But this their land, their homeland, their territory! Guests from abroad can be --- tourists, advisers, consultants, but they do not have the moral and other right to profit from the impoverishment of peoples! And it was the Soviet consultants who brought the real benefit! After all, it has long been known how to green the Sahara!!! But this is unprofitable for the collective West. What benefits them? The emergence of the desert "Aralkum" on the site of the fading sea! And the constant threat of famine in Africa!

It seems to me that somewhere else on earth a certain Joseph had a little over 60 million deaths, which puts him in the first place. Another contender for the title, Adolf, is falling behind...
Indeed, all the French presidents of the 21st century, taken together by one point, are far behind.

I advise you to read Amin Maalouf...

The countries of Western Europe were progressive in the 16th and 19th centuries. Thanks to the technologies of those times, navigation, the desire to study and explore the unknown. Then came the time of patents, legal chicanery, the strength of the strong, the right of discoverers. But there were no eternal countries. Even the Roman Empire collapsed.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, those countries that were previously considered wild and unworthy of universal human values in Western Europe began to fight for themselves as countries, and sometimes for their citizens.
Gradually, the countries of Western Europe began to lose almost free resources from the former colonies.
A new phase of operation has begun. The countries of Western Europe recognized, albeit with difficulty, the new states of Africa. But they tried to enslave them with modern methods ... Production sharing agreements, an assignment agreement, the right to exploration and production, the obligation to ensure the safety of representatives of foreign companies ...
And those politicians who tried to defend the interests of their countries in Africa were sometimes "suddenly overthrown by supporters of the democratic Western European elite associated with mining."
We are not talking about the USA yet. So far, only about France. France, which used North and Central Africa to its advantage for centuries, but did not consider it necessary to bring and consolidate its culture on the African continent.

Of course, I did not forget the time of patents and strong law, we saw this 1627 years ago, on January 17, 395, the era of the Roman Empire came to an end. On this day, the last emperor of the united Roman Empire, Theodosius I the Great, died.

Well, yes .. Down with French imperialism .. laughing I will express an unpopular point of view. The French left their colonies in Africa, but remained there. And he has influence there and lives at their expense. And Russia? It has no influence and does not hold in its "fist" all those lands that were part of the Republic of Ingushetia and were part of the USSR. The Baltic states under the USA and Europe, Moldova under Romania, about the country 404, I will not say anything, Transcaucasia, who goes where. Azerbaijan, under Turkey , Georgia with Armenia under Europe. Central Asia, gravitates towards China. Only Belarus remained, but for how long .. Lukashenka, not Koschey the Immortal .. It is unlikely that his successor will be able to maintain the same course as his predecessor. And lastly, the Russian oligarchs are eager for freedom for the neo-colonial peoples. smile

The first boat departed to the pier from the gangway of the "Eagle" at 10 o'clock in the morning, and I returned back only at midnight, having spent the whole day on the shore. This first walk gave me a lot of impressions.

A clean, friendly town, reminiscent of the southern seaside resorts of France and Italy, is located on the slope of a mountainous cape facing the ocean. Its one-story white houses of beautiful architecture, surrounded on all sides by verandas, resemble suburban summer villas in large European cities. They are buried in the shade of luxurious tropical gardens, among which are scattered flower beds with lush flowers of all shades of the spectrum. The spacious streets on both sides are lined with two rows of palm trees, magnolias and oleanders, forming a green vault [225] above the sidewalks. They give a dense shadow even on a scorching noon with the sheer rays of the sun.

All institutions, post office and shops are concentrated on the main street and the huge central square. Here we met fellow travelers from other ships, whom we had not seen since our stay in Revel.

Missing the solid land, our sailors first of all began to buy various items of local products in shops: ostrich feathers, ivory items, pearls, and rare shells. There are also many imported goods from France, designed both for European tastes and for the native population. Haberdashery, clothing, shoes and fabrics predominate. Among the materials, bright fabrics and colored scarves with fiery red and orange colors are especially common, for which black African beauties have a weakness.

Having sent letters, postcards and a telegram to my parents in Belgorod to Russia and having bought a substantial supply of postcards with local landscapes, I, together with the Oryol mechanical engineer Rusanov, decided to take a long walking tour outside the city in order to get to know African nature in a virgin forest and visit the village of black .

Passing through the streets, we met the French. One could read on their faces that they were masters and masters here. But they do not show much contempt and disdain for blacks, which is so striking in the English colonies, although they call all blacks “sauvage” (savages). Negroes are found in all shops, government offices and restaurants, both as small employees, officials dressed in European uniforms, and as visitors.

Many Negroes have already put on European clothes, but still most of them still retain their native outfit, reminiscent of the ancient Greek tunic. The women are dressed almost identically to the men. On their heads are colored scarves tied with a turban, or wide-brimmed reed hats woven like baskets. Almost all married women have a baby planted in a hanging bag behind their back, whose curly head is pressed against the mother's back.

Having passed from the pier along the main street, we finally come to a colorful, sun-drenched and full of movement area occupied by an African native bazaar. Around the square are small shops in huts. The black merchants lined the grassy carpet beside the road with their wares: earthenware, cane baskets, hats, bandanas, and stinking fish that spoiled quickly in the sun, as well as every little household item. Here is a mixture of African dialects with broken French, noise, shouting, calls of merchants and cursing of bargaining buyers, and over all this din, blocking it, children's chirping reigns. Hundreds of black naked [226] children, like flocks of sparrows, rush through the bazaar, play carelessly in the square, chase each other, fight, climb magnolias. Midday African life, despite the hot sun, is in full swing.

Climbing all the time uphill, we go beyond the city limits, pass the barracks and pass by the governor's residence. On the parade ground in front of the barracks, blacks dressed in khaki uniforms are learning military stepping.

The sun became very hot and reminded us to wet our throats. On the way we stopped at a small tavern and ordered a glass of lemonade with ice. You have to visit the tropics to understand all the inexpressible pleasure from this refreshing fizzy drink.

A friendly handsome Breton handed us a tray with glasses and, of course, immediately recognized us as Russian sailors from the squadron. His wife, a simple, pretty Frenchwoman, was sitting at the counter in front of the small table where she and her husband had dined.

The owners entered into a conversation with us and told us in detail how to get to the Negro village outside the city, and also described to us all the local attractions. The Frenchman told us his whole life and devoted to plans for the future. We learned that he got married only six months ago and came to the colony "to seek happiness."

And for whom it is inconvenient, for us or something Russians. So most of the Russians don’t care deeply about what’s going on there. Well, maybe Prigogine is interested, he defends his Motherland there, after all, and half of the Russians probably don’t even know where Africa is located. They remembered 30 years later.
