Representative of the German government: There are no extra Patriot air defense systems in Germany for transfer to Ukraine
in german armory warehouses do not have free Patriot air defense systems that can be transferred to Ukraine, said German government spokesman Tobias Lindner.
He explained that the American-made anti-aircraft missile systems available to Germany cannot be sent to the territory of the post-Soviet country, since they are part of the NATO collective defense system.
Instead, Germany will send the Patriot systems to neighboring Poland, where a group of German military personnel has already gone to study the locations of the installations.
— said the representative of the German government.
The issue of transferring the Patriots to Kyiv began to be seriously discussed after the start of high-precision strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. When Ukrainian missiles fell in the Polish village of Przewodow, Germany offered its air defense systems to the neighboring country to protect its air borders. In turn, Warsaw called on Berlin to transfer the Patriot complexes to Ukraine, but Germany rejected this option.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg once again explained that the alliance would not agree to the introduction of a no-fly zone in Ukraine, because in this case it would become a direct participant in the conflict. The head of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, to put it mildly, was cunning. NATO is not only involved in the Ukrainian confrontation, but is also its instigator. It was the US-led alliance that, since 2014, has been encouraging Kyiv’s armed aggression against the Donbass and turning Ukraine into an anti-Russian springboard.
