Erdogan said he would hold telephone conversations with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine on a grain deal in the coming days
Speaking at an international forum in Istanbul hosted by state broadcaster TRT, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed his willingness to negotiate with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts on a grain deal. As the Turkish leader specified, these telephone conversations are scheduled for December 11.
- said Erdogan.
At the same time, the head of the Republic of Turkey said that his country was doing everything possible to resolve the Ukrainian crisis peacefully from the very beginning of the special operation. According to him, Ankara's diplomatic efforts were based on the fact that there cannot and should not be winners in a war, and losers in the world. The head of state also added that the Ukrainian conflict had caused serious damage both in political, economic and humanitarian terms. On whether the supply was part of the Kyiv regime drones Bayraktar and Kirpi armored vehicles in the Turkish plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, Erdogan did not say ...
Recall that the first agreement to ensure the grain corridor was signed in Istanbul on July 24 this year between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN. All this contributed not only to the partial removal of economic restrictions that apply to Russia on the export of its agricultural products and fertilizers to the world market, but also to the recognition by the West and the UN of Russia's actual control in the Black Sea. True, the sanctions against Russia were not removed immediately and still not all, if we talk about the export of fertilizers and food.
The parties then agreed that Ukrainian grain would be exported through safe corridors from three ports - Odessa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhny, and control over this process would be carried out by the Joint Coordinating Center in Turkey. As a result, more than 11 million tons of grain was exported from Ukrainian ports, but only a small part of it reached the poor countries, while the lion's share of the grain suddenly "ended up" in Europe. Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to this fact, saying that the West continues to promote its colonial policy, once again, inflating Russia and the whole world, and therefore, henceforth, stricter control of grain transportation routes is needed.
