Turkish attack drone Bayraktar Kızılelma took off from the runway for the first time

Turkey's latest attack drone Bayraktar Kızılelma ("Red Apple"), developed by Baykar Makina, took off for the first time from the runway as part of the tests that had begun.

Flight tests of the latest striker began in Turkey drone Bayraktar Kızılelma, the prototype of which was presented at the end of March this year. In August, the "Red Apple" was shown to the public for the first time at the Teknofest exhibition in the city of Samsun in northern Turkey. Baykar Makina Chairman of the Board Seljuk Bayraktar said that the company has overcome another critical milestone in the development of the drone by lifting it into the air.

Bayraktar Kizilelma - not long left

- he said.

UAV Bayraktar Kızılelma is designed in two versions. The basic version is designed for offshore operations. It will develop subsonic speeds and be based aboard TCG Anadolu-class landing ships. The second option is planned to be adapted to work with fighters, first the F-16, and then with the 5th generation TAI TF-X aircraft (Milli Muharip Uçak is the national combat aircraft).

According to information posted on the official website of Baykar Makina, the maximum takeoff weight of Bayraktar Kızılelma will be 5,5 tons, of which up to 1,5 tons will be payload. The AI-322F and AI-25TLT turbojet engines produced by the Ukrainian enterprise Ivchenko-Progress should provide speeds of 800 km/h and more. Claimed stay in the air - 5 hours.

Do the Turks hope that Krajina will provide them with the production of engines in such a situation? I think the Turks got excited.
They need to either move the production of engines to Turkey or look for another engine

Why got excited? Factories have been working throughout the war, single strikes do not fundamentally affect anything. Moreover, they were applied for the 9th month of the war, when all critical equipment could be hidden or withdrawn three or four times.
The Turks have a TF6000 turbojet engine on the way, they also plan to install it on this UAV. In general, they suggest 3 options Kızılelma"

Actually, Bayraktar had a Turkish alternative, but the Turks considered it the worst option compared to the coming out engine and stopped "developing" (TEI TF-6000)!

Not Uncle Joe, but Uncle Sam. Churchill called Stalin Uncle Joe during World War II. And the machine does not work with unsecured dollars without interruption. The dollar is secured only by the US Navy. Whoever refuses the dollar gets the US fleet on their shores. Only here are the cases in the Black Sea led American sailors to despair. Motor Sich was bought by the Chinese like that. Svidomo threw the Chinese. And the Turks ignore this extremely slippery situation and continue to deal with Motor Sich and its units as if nothing had happened.

Right. An engineering school is formed over 2 generations of engineers i.e. for 30 years. Degrades the same way. The Turks started this process in the late 80s, so now this “school” has been formed for them. If you look at their tests, then everyone there is young, they contrast very much with ours.

I would say that it degrades instantly, in order for engineers to retain their competencies, they need to be paid at least according to the market level, and in order for them to be able to simply transfer their skills, they still need to attract young people, in this case we are only talking about maintaining competencies, but they need to still build up.

Kyzyl Alma (Turk. Qızıl Alma - Red Apple, Tur. Kızıl Elma) - according to Turkic mythology, a utopia and ideals to which the Turks, and in particular the Oghuz Turks, should strive. The symbol is actively exploited by Turkish nationalists, in whose view the "Red Apple" becomes a kind of desired, but distant, if not unattainable goal. Kyzyl Alma is one of the important symbols of Turkic nationalism and Turkic propaganda, according to which all Turkic states should set Kyzyl Alma as the ultimate goal.

And again, judging by the video, where there is a roll yaw, the control is completely manual, as the "citizens" say, Direct Mode. However, the issue with ACS is solvable. But the area of practical application remains unclear. The price for this device will exceed the price of the same type of combat aircraft. So the strategy, "if they shoot down, then it's not a pity" will not work here.

Fast, cheap, effective - these are the main reasons why they did not develop the topic. Money is hard to "master", not like on the S-70.
I really like the AR-10 project, an interesting layout. The AI-25 engine, of course, this item is confusing, it seems that our version is being brought to mind.

They did not let their SR-10s into the series, "they didn't come out with a snout." Others warm their hands there.
And the drone has to be made from scratch. Completely according to other simplified standards, with an emphasis on manufacturability and low cost. The Turks generally argued nonsense - subsonic and supersonic cannot be made optimal for both modes. Or either .

Starting from the 4th, and even more so, the 5th generation, fighters are optimized for flying at sub / trans / supersonic speeds. Moreover, the 5th generation is more on up to and transonic. This UAV was created according to the patterns of 5th generation fighter-bombers, and in principle it is.

Today, using high-tech semi-finished products (engines, electronics, composite materials, etc.), any country can easily "jump" into the prestigious club of aircraft manufacturers without bothering to develop their own technologies. However, one must understand that the real developer in such situations is not the assembly shop, but the technology developer and component supplier. In this case, it is not Türkiye but the United States. Therefore, the Americans are 100% in control of the production of Bayraktars, and if necessary, they can easily either block it or make it work in their own interests.

The construction of a UAV is not some kind of particularly difficult task, it is accessible to many, half a century ago, in aviation circles, pioneers built the simplest radio-controlled models, and adult uncles (amateurs) built more complicated ones, for example, back in 2003 a range record of 3010 km was set, for a handicraft building this is not bad . and the first turbojet engine for the model was made by an amateur loner in 1957. The problem is not how to build a UAV, but how to control it over long distances, here we need satellite communications and navigation, that is, we need an appropriate constellation of satellites

The Turkish Bayraktar TB2 does not use satellite communications, but everything is controlled through a mobile point. The same goes for Iranian UAVs. As for everything else, since 2004 we have been trying to create the most common UAV, but it still doesn’t work out. Therefore, it was decided to buy the Israeli IAI Searcher decommissioned in the late 90s, since our military-industrial complex was unable to create a UAV even at a primitive level.

When it will no longer be possible to forever repaint old Soviet developments, passing them off as something "no analogues" - Russia will turn from the once No. 2 arms exporter in the world into a world arms importer. True, except for Iran and China, no one will sell weapons to us. Well, Russia urgently needs to change the old Soviet approach to the production of weapons. For 20 years it has become clear that with this approach there will be neither modern weapons nor "ends" of state money sawn for this business.
