Russian air defense units received software that makes it easier to detect and shoot down missiles from the HIMARS MLRS

In the course of the SVO in Ukraine, the American HIMARS MLRS, which were "kindly provided" by overseas partners to Kyiv, caused a lot of problems for the RF Armed Forces.

Previously, it was extremely difficult for our air defense units to shoot down rockets fired from the above-mentioned complexes. The Russian military explained this by saying that the missile flies at high altitude and has a low RCS (only 0,1). In addition, the range of destruction of American rocket munitions used in Ukraine reaches only 80 km, which seriously reduces the time for making a decision after the target is detected by air defense systems.

However, now all the aforementioned problems can remain in the past.

According to RIA News With reference to the commander of one of the Russian air defense units, the RF Armed Forces received new software that makes it easier for domestic air defense systems to detect American missiles for the HIMARS MLRS and shoot them down.

The interlocutor of the agency, who is currently serving in the Zaporozhye direction, said that the new program for air defense systems allows you to "work" on American rockets, as on conventional targets. According to the military, his unit has already shot down about ten missiles fired from the HIMARS MLRS.

Recall that a few weeks ago there was information that the HIMARS rocket was delivered to one of the research institutes in Russia. Officially, this information was not commented on. But it fits perfectly with the advent of software that makes it easier to intercept American MLRS missiles.

Well, here it is. Now the air defense will be stronger.

. MOSCOW, December 2 - RIA Novosti. The Russian air defense forces received new software that makes it easy to shoot down HIMARS MLRS missiles, said the commander of one of the units based in the Zaporozhye direction.
"At the initial stage, we did not understand what it was (MLRS HIMARS missiles. - Ed.), but now we are already freely working on HIMARS ... they asked us for a new program, and HIMARS are now like ordinary targets. We freely see, observe and destroy without problems,” he said.

The Russian armed forces shot down two aircraft of the Ukrainian army - MiG-29 and Su-25 - in the Donetsk People's Republic. This was reported in the latest report of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The MiG-29 was shot down in the Ukrainka area by fighter aircraft, and the Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down in the Nikolsky area with the help of air defense systems.

Well, actually it is not Western, Linux is an international project, the kernel is full of Russian code. And this distribution is a fork of the already deceased CentOS distribution, and just like CentOS uses the ReDHat database. But already partially. The red hat does not support Elbrus, but the red hat does.

in a direct manner. Now even small rackets are multi-stage: you can first shoot up, and then turn on the accelerator. It is possible - on the contrary: to make a marching engine, so that at first it flies "quietly low", and when the target is captured, the accelerator is turned on. For an air defense interception algorithm, it is very important to know exactly how it flies.

Most likely, they analyzed the trajectories of movement and improved the auto-capture of such targets. This is also very important, as it allows you to identify a missile at an earlier stage and, for example, shoot it down before it reaches residential areas.

Objectively ... mobile strike systems will always be a difficult target, their missiles, of course. With a large theater of operations, with the barbaric tactics of an adversary, shoot anywhere, not distinguishing military targets from civilian ...
Shooting them down is not so difficult, but the enemy, using all the "advantages", greatly complicates this task for our air defense ...

Yes, it’s better ... But you also need to cover your cities and rear. until he crushed the launchers with caterpillars. However, the length of the front line apparently does not allow creating a sufficient density of air defense systems everywhere. Here it comes periodically. These are very narrow and elite specialists, it is extremely unlikely if there is a firmware in the microcontroller, it is theoretically possible to probably remove it, but deciphering and understanding the algorithms is work for tens of months, if it is possible at all, and if there is an FPGA, then this is probably beyond the power of a person. Even if we allow you to get the source codes of the firmware, then for sure there are hundreds of coefficients that you can also figure out. Too much if ... And all this, given that the Americans are fools and have not made means of protection ....
