TsNIItochmash delivered the first batch of cartridges for 6P72 Udav pistols to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was reported by the press service of the Kalashnikov concern, having made a corresponding entry in the Telegram channel.
The troops were sent cartridges with a bullet of increased penetration for conventional pistols "Udav" 6P72 and cartridges with a reduced bullet speed designed for the 6P72-1 pistol, which includes a silencer and a laser pointer capable of working in day and night modes.
TsNIItochmash supplied the Russian Ministry of Defense with the first batch of ammunition for the new 9 mm 6P72 self-loading pistol. The delivery includes a 9 mm cartridge with a bullet of increased penetration (index 7N42) and a 9 mm cartridge with a reduced bullet speed (index 7U4)

The Udav 9X21 mm pistol was adopted by the Russian army in 2019 and is still being supplied to the troops in small batches; to date, two installation batches of pistols have been sent to the military and documents for the third have been signed. As previously stated in the Ministry of Defense, the new pistol is mainly intended for special forces and intelligence officers, but drivers, signalmen, logistics specialists, etc. will also be armed with it.
The self-loading pistol "Udav" uses a cartridge of 9x21 mm caliber, specialized ammunition has been developed for it. Firing range 50 meters, magazine capacity 18 rounds. Dimensions: length 206 mm, height 145 mm, width 36 mm. The curb weight of the pistol is 980 g. In the unloaded version, the pistol weighs 200 g less. At a distance of 50 m, the bullet pierces a sheet of armor up to 4 mm thick.
