"Lament of Yaroslavna": again about hemostatic tourniquets
On November 8, Alexander "RAZVEDOS" Arutyunov, widely known in narrow circles, posted short video postdedicated to the product "Mikhailov tourniquet hemostatic "FEST" disposable No. 1".
It would seem, well, laid out and laid out, why mumble something? However, curiosity led me to manufacturer's official website, where I was met by a huge banner:
It follows from it that the tourniquet is hemostatic and is the best tool for EMERGENCY stop bleeding. It is assumed that any and from any places, since there are no footnotes and asterisks. At this point, I would like to recall the concept of "Public offer" (Civil Code Article 437):
1. Advertising and other offers addressed to an indefinite circle of persons are considered as an invitation to make offers, unless otherwise expressly stated in the offer;
2. An offer containing all the essential terms of the contract, from which the will of the person making the offer is seen to conclude an agreement on the conditions specified in the offer with anyone who responds, is recognized as an offer (public offer).
I doubt that I am able to correctly interpret the law in this case, so let's go from the opposite. Advertising slogans without specific information are NOT a public offer, but here we specifically indicate the specialization of the product, which is also confirmed by MONIKA's FUV tests - it turns out that this is a public offer, and after using this product, the blood will stop. To be honest, I highly doubt that arterial bleeding will stop for reasons other than "the patient's blood has dried up", but let's turn to tests.
Requirements for a tourniquet:
1) Must completely stop the flow of blood from the damaged artery. Next come criteria like the absence of a pulse, but we have already learned the most important thing. The product should stop arterial bleeding;
2) The tourniquet should not injure the arteries, nerves and underlying tissues;
3) It must be possible to use the product in any climatic conditions and in any lighting;
4) It must be possible to apply a tourniquet on bare skin;
5) The tourniquet should be easily and quickly applied and removed just as quickly;
6) The tourniquet should be easily washed from dirt and blood or be disposable;
7) Be strong enough and easy to apply.
Harnesses from different manufacturers and even an Esmarch harness participated in the testing, and for comparison we used simulator "Vladimir Mikhailov".
Criteria for requirements for participants:
1) The possibility of applying a tourniquet to oneself with one hand;
2) The possibility of applying a tourniquet to the thigh of an adult victim;
3) Thermal resistance from -25 to +40 degrees Celsius;
4) The ability to apply a tourniquet on a clamped limb;
5) Reliability of fixation of the tourniquet application, excluding the possibility of unintentional weakening;
6) Convenience of short-term loosening and subsequent tension of the tourniquet;
7) Possibility of attaching notes to the harness over time;
8) The possibility of applying to the skin of the victim;
9) Ease of use.
The long-suffering tourniquet of Esmarch does not pass through points: 3, 6, 8 and 9. Yes, the absolutely subjective point No. 9 was also not passed, because the design of the tourniquet "does not allow it to be conveniently transported and applied". According to experts, the Esmarch tourniquet is intended for use only in stationary conditions, which is the same as “written in the instruction manual". Here I was stunned, because the Esmarch tourniquet is still part of the first-aid kit of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. As they say, one of the turtles... got it wrong.
Thus, the head of the Department of Disaster Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Volodin A.S. and Associate Professor of the Department of Disaster Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences Volfson S.D. decided that the FEST tourniquet meets all the requirements.
A certificate of conformity to something issued by VNIITSI LLC is also available. Legally, everything is fine, you will not find fault. This is what made it possible to actively complete car first-aid kits with this product, all according to the law.
Another stumbling block is the car first aid kit. Since 2021, the Ministry of Health has given motorists the opportunity to assemble a mandatory first aid kit on their own, but enterprising manufacturers quickly offered a cheap and angry option. 400 rubles for an indulgence from the law is not so much, especially against the backdrop of the cost of OSAGO.
Let's get back to the harness. I invite the reader to get to know patented venous tourniquet "FEST".
And then compare it with hemostatic tourniquet "FEST".
The main difference is that a hemostatic can be used for arterial bleeding, but not a venous one.
And now I want to remind you of the Rudnev contactor, which is used on the Alpha harness, in order to draw attention to the difference in the materials of execution of the two products. If we assume that nanotechnology was not used in the design of the FEST harness, the question arises - why is the Rudnev contactor made of durable metal and not plastic?
Conclusions
I have formed individual conclusions about the product and an opinion about the manufacturer, but I do not want to end with this. Literally a day before the release of the post, Alexander published my article on products of the LEAF project. On the day the post was published, Alexander published an article from Vlad Harrigan, Sergey Kasper and Victor L. in the group Gray Zone Medicinededicated to comparison of hemostatic agents. In our country, in general, there are many people who have been successfully working on the development of the medical field for a long time, producing, importing, testing and modernizing instruments that are actively used during a special military operation.
Problems with the Esmarch harness, the need to reform the approach to self-help and mutual assistance in the framework of hostilities were reported long before the start of the NWO. At the beginning of the NWO, this and problems with first-aid kits were shouted from every iron. All in order for the conditional “someone” to pay attention to a free niche and offer their product. Considering all the legal beauty of some products and the absoluteness in passing expert tests, I am afraid that the Esmarch tourniquet will soon seem to us the standard for completing first-aid kits. I would like, of course, to say hello to the responsible persons and demand that this be prevented, but here only time will tell where we will end up.
