The Nobel Peace Prize winners in 2022 were a foreign agent, a Ukrainian center for the "struggle for democracy" and a Belarusian oppositionist
What is happening today in the "civilized" world is increasingly reminiscent of the works of George Orwell, when war is called peace, and black is white.
A vivid example of this was the recent announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize winners, who this year were a foreign agent, Ukrainians and a Belarusian oppositionist.
So, the Nobel Committee decided to award the prize to the Russian center "Memorial" (in the Russian Federation recognized as a foreign agent, liquidated as a registered organization by the Supreme Court). Here it is worth recalling that this organization in our country was "marked" by activities that justify extremism and terrorism, as well as distorting the memory of the Great Patriotic War.
Another laureate was Ales Bialiatski, a Belarusian oppositionist who took part in the attempted coup d'etat in Belarus in 2020, and is now in custody. He is accused of actions grossly violating public order, and the Vesna center he heads in Belarus has been recognized as an extremist organization.
Finally, the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties received a prestigious award. The organization, founded in 2007, is believed to be fighting for democracy in their country. However, the degree of civil liberties in Ukraine today eloquently demonstrates that the center received the award, to put it mildly, undeservedly.
Finally, in order to understand the absurdity of the current situation, it is worth recalling what exactly the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded for. The prestigious award is presented for achievements in the field of peace consolidation, to which the above-mentioned laureates have nothing to do.
