The head of the US State Department: Russia and Putin have not yet shown interest in a diplomatic solution on Ukraine

Russia and Putin have so far shown no interest in a diplomatic solution to Ukraine. At least the United States does not see Moscow's interest in this.
This statement was made by the head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, at a press conference in Peru.
He added that if Russia demonstrates a desire for diplomatic negotiations with Washington on the Ukrainian issue, America is ready to take a step forward. But, the Secretary of State notes with regret, there are no such signals from the Kremlin.
At a press conference, a representative of one of the media reminded the official that US President Joe Biden told reporters of the agency TASS about the possibility of meeting with a Russian colleague at one of the upcoming international summits to discuss Ukraine and other issues. She noted that in light of the increased likelihood of a nuclear strike, Washington should probably take the diplomatic initiative.
The fact is that President Putin and Russia showed absolutely no interest in any meaningful diplomacy. And until they do, she's very hard to lead.
Blinken answered her.
The decision to conduct a special operation in Ukraine was made by the Kremlin on February 24, as Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in an address to the people. This was done at the request of the leadership of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
