The head of the Greek Foreign Ministry actually called on the EU countries to join the demands on Germany to pay reparations
Greece is going to join the demands on Germany about the "need" to pay reparations after Poland. This was stated by Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias during a meeting with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau. Only in Greece they decided to go even further than Poland, declaring that the German authorities must pay reparations not only for the Second World War, but also for the First.

It is extremely important for our people to resolve the issue of Germany paying reparations for war crimes committed during the years of the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
According to the head of the Greek Foreign Ministry, such a question today for Athens "is a matter of principle." Then Dendias uttered a phrase that attracted particular attention:
I believe that the solution of this issue will be beneficial for all involved countries of the European Union.
Based on this statement, we can conclude that the Greek minister thus calls on other EU countries to join the demands addressed to Berlin for the payment of reparations. This is already reminiscent of an attempt by Poland to organize a semblance of a collective agreement against Germany. And all this is happening against the background of the fact that both Poland and Greece are one of the largest European debtors in relation to Germany. It was the German economy that in recent years has actually kept the economy of the same Greece afloat, the level of debt in which has reached 200% of GDP. In total, hundreds of billions of euros were poured into the Greek economy, which now the Greek government, judging by the rhetoric, is not going to give back, as well as the Polish authorities, who came up with a "knight's move" demanding payment of reparations for the years of Nazi occupation.
