The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the claims of the Polish authorities for reparations from the Russian Federation
The Russian authorities responded to Polish claims about the need to pay "reparations". Recall that the Polish authorities had previously approved a document according to which Germany "should" pay Warsaw about 1,3 trillion dollars for the years of the Nazi occupation of Poland. The fact that after the defeat in World War II, Germany "paid off" Poland with its historical lands, in Warsaw they do not want to take into account.
In addition to Germany, the Polish authorities also have claims to "reparations" to Russia. Thus, the head of the ruling Law and Justice party in Poland, Yaroslav Kaczynski, has repeatedly stated that "it is necessary to demand payments from both Berlin and Moscow." From Russia, the Polish elite wants to receive funds for the so-called "Soviet occupation." Andrzej Duda, President of Poland, made similar statements.
In an interview with the agency RIA News Oleg Tyapkin, director of one of the departments of the Russian Foreign Ministry, called the Polish requests for reparations "something from the realm of political fantasies." According to the Russian diplomat, the Polish authorities often turn to historical revisionism to solve domestic political problems.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted the immoral Polish authorities in the sense that they are well aware of the following fact: if not for the victory of the Soviet Union in the war over Nazi Germany, then the Poles would have been exterminated or turned into slaves for the Germans, and the existence of a national Polish state would have forget.
At the same time, the Polish authorities are increasingly continuing to promote the topic of reparations, believing that in this way they will be able not only to put pressure on Germany, but also to achieve (not without active assistance from the United States) certain financial "goodies" from Berlin, which he himself fell into total dependence on Washington.
