Pentagon spokeswoman: Ammunition at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is capable of reaching Crimea
13
Pentagon officials are increasingly making it clear that they are directly involved in the armed conflict in Ukraine. Recently, the number of comments from various levels of employees of the US military department has increased manifold. Among other commentators on the state of affairs in Ukraine is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense of the United States (with a budget of 830 billion, there is such a position in the Pentagon) Laura Cooper.
According to L. Cooper, who spoke in an interview with PBS, "Ukraine has in its arsenal guided missiles with a range of up to 80 km." These are GMLRS, which can be produced, among other things, with the help of Hymars installations.
Laura Cooper says that "this ammunition is able to reach most targets on the front."
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense:
We believe that Ukrainian troops are capable of attacking the vast majority of targets with these missiles, including those in Crimea.
The representative of the American military department is clearly disingenuous. If the United States handed over missiles with a range of only up to 80 km to Ukraine, then from the positions currently occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they will not reach Crimea. This means that either more long-range missiles have already been transferred to Ukraine, or the calculation is that the Ukrainian army will be sent to advance at any cost in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. On the eve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they occupied several villages in the north-east of the Kherson region at once.
