UK Ministry of Defense apologizes for 'unacceptable' military housing standard
The UK Ministry of Defense was forced to apologize to the families of military personnel after serious problems were revealed with the housing provided to these families. The housing standard was found to be unacceptable.
Six months ago, the country's military department signed contracts with a private contractor for the construction of housing for military personnel for a total of 650 million pounds. Then the officials of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain spoke highly of these contracts.
However, after the completion of construction and the entry of residents, social networks were overwhelmed with complaints from residents about the poor quality work of contractors. Deficiencies cited include openings in exterior walls, front doors without locks, water leaks, non-functioning sewers, and instances of mold.
The contracts, which included the construction of 49 houses, were supposed to end decades of substandard living conditions for tens of thousands of British military personnel. This was one of the reasons why people did not want to go to serve in the British army.
The official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the country, David Bowden, apologized to the families of military personnel who did not receive what they were promised. The ministry is now working on the issue of eliminating the problems faced by army families in new homes. At the same time, it is not reported why the problem was noticed when 0,65 billion pounds sterling had already been mastered by the contractor.
