President of Bolivia told the whole truth about US diplomacy
Recently, speaking in La Paz with a speech on the occasion of the Day of Decolonization - as the date of discovery of America is called in Bolivia - Evo Morales finally answered the constant attacks of Washington civilizers with all Indian directness: "Previously, those who had good connections ( US embassy) were omnipotent, admired, and many army and police officers went there to establish good relations (with the Americans). But today, pardon the expression, having connections with the US embassy is the same as plunging into excrement. ” Today, according to Morales, both police and military fear contacts with the US embassy, since such proximity is negatively perceived by Bolivians, is a compromising factor. American diplomats are increasingly seen as enemies of the people and the state. The previous governments depended on the United States embassy, which "practically appointed ministers and authorized the nomination of police and army officers to command positions." With this practice, the government of Morales is finished forever.
The next day, speaking in the city of Santa Cruz at a ceremonial meeting on the 630 meeting of young doctors who completed their studies in Cuba, Morales returned to the question of the relationship between the United States and Bolivia. “Over the years, 50,” he said, “the United States has been able to impose on us, our country, asymmetrical, disrespectful, malicious, dominant and hegemonic ties.” According to Morales, Washington never wondered about the development of Bolivia and offered such “cooperation” programs that impeded progress, perpetuated the country's dependence. Morales touched on the topic of the fight against drug trafficking. The President believes that Washington has never really sought to ensure that drug cartels suffered defeat in Bolivia. The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) strategy in the country was based on the principle “the more drugs, the more reasons to intervene”, “ideological and political subordination (to Washington) of the Bolivian army and police”. The United States did everything to turn the country into a “political pawn” operating within the framework of the imperial doctrine of “global security”. Under these conditions, the natural resources of Bolivia would be at the disposal of the United States.
The prospect of relations with the United States, according to Morales, does not promise anything good: they will never forgive the nationalization of hydrocarbon deposits. Previously, the gringos lent money and demanded to follow their political prescriptions. Since 2006, when Morales first won the presidential election, this black tradition has ended. Restoration of sovereignty, genuine independence, independent financial and economic policy, the course towards building a socialist multinational state - all this contradicts the interests of the United States. Morales is sure that for this reason the repressions of Washington began, the permanent policy of conspiracies and conspiracies: “The United States has never been interested in Bolivia becoming a democratic, socially just state with a high activity of citizens. On the contrary, the United States did everything to divide (our people), push us together. ” According to Morales, Philip Goldberg, a destabilization expert, was sent to Bolivia to implement this plan: “He arrived in the country after the split of Yugoslavia, inciting racial hatred, and civil wars with thousands of victims. Goldberg wanted Bolivia to turn into Yugoslavia, and therefore personally led (rousing) the internal confrontation. ”
President Morales constantly reminds compatriots of the facts of the subversive activities of the US Embassy. The Constitutional Assembly was sabotaged, separatism was encouraged in the five provinces of Bolivia, where the main hydrocarbon reserves are located and 75-80% of GDP is produced. Despite the results of the referendum - two thirds of the Bolivians supported the social and political course of Evo Morales! - American diplomats and agents, following instructions from Washington, carried out methodical, unprecedented in scale, work to split the country. Millions of dollars were spent on these goals. Through USAID, “shock” youth groups were created, rallies and demonstrations were funded, NGOs were incited to radicalize actions. The plane of the American Embassy was used to transport oppositionists to the departments of Beni and Pando in order to block the airports and to prevent the arrival of Evo Morales, who was trying to normalize the situation. In September 2008, the president of Bolivia announced the expulsion of Ambassador Goldberg, accusing him of assisting the separatist movements in the country. Were also expelled by employees of the DEA, who, like the CIA, recruited among the military and the police, monitored the movements of President Morales. The security service evaluated the intensification of this surveillance as a sign of the preparation of the assassination. “It was only after the expulsion of the ambassador of the United States,” said Morales, “that we managed to slow down these deep and purposeful maneuvers, the conspiracy against the process of change. I want to confirm that I do not regret (about the decision made) and I am proud that in the name of the dignity and sovereignty of Bolivia, the ambassador was expelled. ”
Nevertheless, the destructive operations of the US embassy continue. Known transfer facts weapons In the vehicles with American diplomatic numbers, episodes of incitement of Indian communities to protest against the government were documented; an attempt was made to infiltrate into the territory of Bolivia a terrorist group formed by the CIA from its agents in a number of countries in Eastern and Western Europe. Almost all the members of this group were "combat run-in" in the Balkans. Some of the terrorists were eliminated as a result of a special operation by the Bolivian police, others - after three years of investigation - were tried. It should be noted that from the 39 group members, militants and accomplices, 17 managed to escape from Bolivia and are currently hiding in the United States. The defendants receive financial and propaganda support through various “channels of influence”. The US Embassy closely monitors the trial, trying to present it as “politically beneficial” to the Morales government “staging”.
At the end of 2011, Bolivia decided to restore diplomatic relations with the United States in full. After consultations, approvals, adjustments to the project, a framework agreement was signed. The return of ambassadors to Washington and La Paz was also planned. In January, 2012 signed an agreement to combat drug trafficking. In February - an agreement on bilateral cooperation. However, 7 March 2012, the convergence process was interrupted: the United States in its certification document on the fight against drug trafficking qualified the efforts of Bolivia as “failures”. In March 2012, after his speech before the UN Commission on Drugs in Vienna, Morales, at a press conference, accused the DEA of illegal activities in Bolivia. Despite the successes in exposing drug organizations, intercepting drug carriers, arresting criminals, the DEA once again “did not certify” Bolivia. Morales took it as a blatant attempt at pressure: “Americans are always belittling our successes in this area, although the UN recognizes our achievements. The DEA is a political tool of the United States, always ready to give out negative information. DEA operations serve to compromise politicians and trade union anti-imperialist leaders. It is for this reason that we expelled the DEA. ”
Bolivia intends to put an end to its relations with USAID and its associated National Endowment for Democracy and the International Republican Institute. They stimulate campaigns hostile to the government and finance non-governmental organizations. Among the most hostile are the Youth for Development Association, the Institute for Development and Manageability, the Organization for the Training of Human Rights Defenders and others. Over the years of activity in the country, USAID has created an active “fifth column” of the intellectual elite, journalists, and students. USAID has analytical laboratories in Bolivia in which "imported" and local experts develop scenarios for attacking the government. The USAID director in Bolivia is Vane Nilsesthueen, who performs representational functions, but a team of CIA operatives with diplomatic passports operates under his cover. The residency of the CIA itself is called the “political section” of the embassy. The Bolivian counterintelligence is well aware of who is who on this team. The resident is Geoffrey Schadrak, the employees, who are politically and economically, are mostly young guys - Richmond Blake, Robert Crotty, Eric Kamus, Eric Whittington and others. The embassy has representatives of the main special services of the USA, including military intelligence.
Chargé d’affaires in Bolivia since July of this year. is Larry Memmot. His diplomatic career began in 1987: he served as vice consul in La Paz. Further Memmot specialized mainly in Latin America. In 2008 - 2011 He happened to work in the capitals of the former Soviet republics: in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, where knowledge of the Russian language was useful. Of course, Memmot, without any sympathy, belongs to the “populist regime” of the Indian president, but he is a romantic man, outwardly resembles those of Tsereushnikov who torture people in secret prisons around the world. It is more common for him to (rarely) have free time from diplomatic espionage to travel around the country and make photo reports. He even runs a blog to share his impressions of the country.
The question is whether Memmot and his colleagues will be able to complete the business trip to the end without serious conflicts with the government of Bolivia? Evo Morales warned recently: “Bolivia is an anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, anti-liberal country. If the embassy of the United States will disturb Bolivia, as it has done so far, I warn you that we will have no choice but to close it at all. ” President Morales doesn’t disagree with the matter, especially since we now know well what the perception of Evo is inspired by US diplomacy.
