Chief of the British General Staff: Russia can strike Britain from space, turning off our GPS and satellite communications

Anti-Russian rhetoric in the Anglo-Saxon world is gaining momentum. The head of the general staff of the British armed forces, Admiral Tony Radakin, announced that Russia posed a "security threat to Britain."

According to Tony Radakin, "Russia, Vladimir Putin, can strike the United Kingdom from space."

Chief of the General Staff of the British Army:

Russia with this strike can disable our communication systems, isolating us from the world. Moscow has all the possibilities for this.

Admiral Radakin added that Russia "is capable of depriving Britain of the signal of the global positioning system GPS and satellite communications."
The fabrications of the British high-ranking military official did not end there. He began to transfer Russian funds from the "arsenal that can be used against the UK":

These are sabotage submarines, nuclear weapon, means of information warfare.

Radakin:

It must be understood that Russian President Putin has opportunities in space. I recall how Russia showed everyone the example of the destruction of its satellite in space, causing the appearance of a lot of debris - space debris.

Such statements were made by the chief of the British General Staff in an interview with the Mirror. At the same time, Radakin did not say a word about how British forces, together with NATO allies, carried out an attack on Russian gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea; how dozens of information and psychological operations were carried out against Russia, including with the use of Ukrainian special services.

Shooting down a GPS satellite with a missile is not so easy.
Nevertheless, the height of 20 thousand km is not 300 km, where the S-500 reaches.
I suppose we should practice beam and microwave weapons. Any radio telescope is a ready-made antenna for a radiating microwave, but instead of a receiver, you need to put an emitter. And precise aiming at the target is already built into the telescope.
Pointing exactly at the satellite and accompanying it is not a problem.
Or you can synchronize the impact from several radio telescopes.

With a competent approach, along the projected trajectory ... a bucket of "micronails" ... and in a month or two the entire space group will be furry splendor. But this is so ..at the extreme.

These are not low orbits, where debris circles the planet in an hour and a half, and the debris itself will fall to Earth in ten years, clearing the orbit.
Here the orbit is several days of revolution, the length is 150 thousand km, and there are six such orbits, at different angles. Hundreds of tons of "nails" will be required, for each of the orbits, in order to reliably litter the orbit. Not to mention the fact that only a heavy rocket can lift to such a height, the launch of which is ten times more expensive than launching astronauts on the ISS. And this orbit will no longer "self-clean", the garbage will hang there almost forever, and after thousands of years, sending greetings from the past.
So the "bucket of nails" is effective for low spy satellites, and only (although, of course, the right thing)

Of course "quickly" will not be cleared. This is foolish. But sometimes a cheap grenade stops an expensive tank. This is banal logic. All orbits are calculated long and in advance and for a long time ahead. First a bucket, and then a geometric progression, if not exponentially laughing

If a barrel of radioactive waste is sprayed over a truck, the truck will definitely be written off. Yes, and the barrel itself can be cheap.
That's just together with the truck within a radius of a kilometer, everything will be infected. And if the isotopes are "long-playing", then for thousands of years. The reasons why the truck was hit will long be forgotten. But your great-great-grandchildren will remember that it was their ancestor who defiled the earth.
The contaminated soil can then still be removed and taken to the burial ground.
                You can't clean littered orbits.

If it touches anything, then there will be no one to "clean" the orbits. I think self-cleaning will only take a very long time. laughing several dozen generations, if not more. All the same, there (on the ground) if anyone remains, then only with sticks.

Well, the strategic nuclear component of any country is always in a more serious condition than any other weapons and equipment.
            2 SSBNs are always ready and regularly patrolling;
            1 SSBN is formally listed as ready and is on duty in the base with the possibility of going out in a day;
1 SSBN either under repair or modernization, a quick exit to the sea is impossible.
Since the UK does not have its own ranges, they carry out test launches off the coast of Florida at American ranges.
Further taboo information is only indirect, because neither the United States nor Britain shares it with Russia, since Britain is not a member of START-3.

This is, of course, preferable as a step before a global nuclear war, but I think that the result will have negative sides, because the whole world uses GPS. For example, it will alienate China and India. Also GLONASS will be attacked, this will give the US and UK an excuse to attack all Russian satellites. This is another Pandora's box that is still locked.

By cutting internet cables, you can negate the possibility of an attack. And while the temporary interruption of the transatlantic link will have a big impact on the world economy, it will be temporary because the cables can be fixed. A polluted orbit is more difficult to fix, and responsibility cannot be denied here. So if it has to be done, I hope they consult with China first. Russia does not need two enemies.

So why, with such opportunities, Russia did not deprive Ukraine of communications?
The Internet, servers, telephone, government and special military communications are still working there, through which the Armed Forces of Ukraine receive the necessary orders and information from Western intelligence.
Or maybe everything is simple - simply because Russia does not have such opportunities.
Exactly as there were no opportunities to suppress the air defense of Ukraine 35-40 years ago, which is why the aviation of the Aerospace Forces does not fly into the depths of its territory, but presses close to the ground, substituting for thousands of MANPADS.

It looks like parliament is bending over to allocate money for a new military program. The public is joining. In their military doctrine of war in "cyber" space, an important role is assigned.

          Where else?
They already support an "army" of 80 thousand with the same money as we do.

So a pair of British submarines can demolish the entire North-West of Russia and all the most important objects there in 12-15 minutes with a flat launch of Tridents.

They first need to bring them into working condition

And why bring them if they are conditionally already there?
Just the transmission of signals and commands over communication systems.
Moreover, the connection is British, or NATO, or American.
Since British nuclear forces are part of the nuclear planning of both the United States and NATO.
They agree a lot, and the purpose and time of application.

It would be better if this Englishman said something else, that from now on (or maybe already a long time ago) they lifted the limit on the number of missiles and nuclear charges on combat duty of strategic submarines of the British Navy.
This means that now British SSBNs will go on patrol (perhaps they are already going out) not with 12-13 missiles on the boat and with 5-6 warheads on the missile, but with full ammunition - all 16 missiles and 8-10 charges per missile.
And this is much more serious than it was before.
It turns out that on a pair of British SSBNs engaged in combat service there will already be 32 Tridents and 290-300 charges on them.
And you can imagine what they can do while they are now, for example, in the North Sea.

Notice how the rhetoric of our government and propagandists regarding tactical nuclear weapons has changed since Monday. It looks like the US and Britain have made a compelling case to stop nuclear escalation.

It looks like it, but the turbo-patriotic psycho-hysteria continues and will periodically escalate on the Internet with calls / threats to "be scared to deal" with Britain, then with Poland, or directly with the United States itself ... winked

I don't understand the British. Well, the United States there, at least the territory allows us to hope to survive somewhere, and these are completely without a head. It seems like back in the days when Zhukov was alive, they were told that if you want war, you will get it and in 10 minutes nothing will be left of you from your filthy island. You don't even need to build shelters. The sea has always protected Britain from war on its own land, but now this protector can easily become a gravedigger.

It seems to me alone that everything that they declare as possible actions, then the Anglo-Saxons and Europe themselves implement with their own hands? At the same time, as a result, they say: And we warned you about the insidious Russians ...
Directly every statement / warning, as an announcement of their actions ...

Launch a "overexposure" type laser on the ISS and completely accidentally burn all GPS satellites, depriving "unfriendly countries" of the ability to coordinate enemy strikes on our territory! And then blame everything, according to the principle of America, on meteorites and on America itself, they say "it burned its own satellites"! Elon Musk has satellites of several centimeters there, so there won’t be any special problems to destroy them!
