US presidential adviser: Now is not the right time to discuss the admission of Ukraine to NATO
The Kyiv regime's dreams of an "accelerated" (without a membership action plan - MAP) admission of Ukraine to NATO collide with the harsh reality and interests of the main beneficiary of the North Atlantic military bloc. This beneficiary in all cases in NATO is the United States. And it was from the United States that information came that, to put it mildly, did not please the Ukrainian authorities.
According to US national security adviser Jake Sullivan, now is not the right time to discuss the admission of Ukraine to NATO. Sullivan made it clear to Brussels itself (as the headquarters of NATO) that there could be no discussions about the admission of Ukraine to the alliance now.
By the way, the fact that Ukraine should not hope for an accelerated process of admission to the North Atlantic Alliance was also announced the day before by its Secretary General. Stoltenberg, in streamlined terms, made it clear to the Kyiv regime that his application for an “urgent” entry would remain an application for the time being, nothing more. Stoltenberg added the catchphrase that "NATO's doors remain open to all."
At the same time, both Sullivan and Stoltenberg noted that the main task of NATO now is precisely the military support of Ukraine, without the direct participation of the NATO military in an armed conflict. Most NATO countries are clearly not eager to send their troops to Ukraine for a direct confrontation with Russia. Deliveries same weapons NATO will continue to provide further assistance to the Kyiv regime in the provision of intelligence information.
