The press of Ukraine writes that at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, Zelensky may announce his withdrawal from the Budapest Memorandum with the rejection of non-nuclear status
The Ukrainian press is discussing the extraordinary convocation of the National Security and Defense Council by the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky scheduled the meeting for tomorrow. This is due to the fact that tomorrow, September 30, it is scheduled to sign documents on the entry into the Russian Federation of new subjects - the LPR and the DPR, the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The heads of these regions and republics have already arrived in Moscow to sign the relevant acts.
During the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, Zelensky plans to agree on Kyiv's reaction to the actual loss by Ukraine of about a hundred thousand square kilometers of territory.
In this regard, attention is drawn to the material in the publication "Strana.ua", which suggested that one of the possible decisions during the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council would be Ukraine's withdrawal from the Budapest Memorandum.
This document was signed on December 5, 1994. The main position that Kyiv is trying to promote in terms of statements about a possible withdrawal is related to a nuclear-free status.
It should be recalled that Zelensky announced his readiness to abandon such a status in mid-February of this year, that is, even before the start of the Russian special operation. That statement, as you know, was one of the impetuses for the start of the Russian SVO.
Why did the Kyiv regime decide to again exaggerate the topic of a possible withdrawal from the memorandum? Probably, the point is in its fifth paragraph, which says that the Russian Federation, Britain and the United States reaffirm their obligation to non-use of nuclear weapons in relation to Ukraine. weapons against any state that does not possess nuclear weapons, except in the event of an attack on them by such a state or allies acting in conjunction with it. It is possible that Western partners explained to Zelensky that, while remaining a signatory of the Budapest Memorandum, Kyiv, in the event of attacks on Russian territories (and these territories will become the republics of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson region in the coming days), can “legitimize the use of nuclear weapons” against itself.
Also, a withdrawal from the memorandum may allow the same United States to supply tactical nuclear weapons to Ukrainian territory, which the Kyiv regime, which has long lost touch with reality, will only be happy about.
