From a first-aid kit to a portable stove: Sparta's battalion commander gave advice on equipping a raid backpack

Artyom Zhoga commands the Sparta battalion, an elite unit of the DPR that has been fighting since 2014. He is approached by many men who, against the backdrop of partial mobilization, ask to talk about the equipment, in connection with which he shared his experience.

As Joga explained, the fighter should actually wear a jacket, a belt (with a flashlight and a first aid kit), a set of clothes (thermal underwear, pants, shoes), gloves, a hat, a seat, a mobile phone and a power bank in his pocket

The raid backpack must contain: a sleeping mat, a sleeping bag, spare socks, a slide uniform (pants, a jacket), a set of warm clothes (pants, a jacket, gloves, socks, a knitted hat, a scarf, winter boots), additional pants, a shirt, a set thermal underwear, warm fleece jacket, camouflage robe, balaclava, knee pads, elbow pads.

In additional pockets fit: on one side of the backpack - headphones, gloves, a spare knitted hat, a stove [wood chipper], a bowler hat (inside a cup and a spoon), a spare spoon; on the other side of the backpack - another jacket, a thermal mug, a spare set of thermal underwear, liquid soap, shampoo, a gas cylinder for the stove, a device for drying shoes.

All this is placed in one raid backpack, which does not need to be constantly worn, since it is kept by responsible persons.

You don’t need to buy this, the armed forces give it all out, except for shampoo, thermo mug, smartphone, power bank, gas cylinder

- explained the commander.

I am surprised how, without all this equipment, in overcoats, boots and with conventional weapons, our soldiers defended Moscow and Stalingrad, and then built a happy childhood for us. And they built it and space was the first in the world to master !!!

Bullshit, finally won the battle on the ice with swords and shields. But today, with such equipment, they would have blown away. Amazing, right?

Good question .... Referring to the times, to people who were unpretentious and grew up in Spartan conditions, there is no sense in ideology. To be honest, even now we are inferior in equipment to the enemy, as we were inferior to the Wehrmacht then. But Victory brings, fighting spirit, motivation, the talent of military leaders .. Good equipment is great, but not the most relevant. But the support and strikes of art, aviation .. And most importantly, accurate strikes provided by intelligence, and much more

The equipment and equipment of a fighter means a lot. The Wehrmacht felt this very well in winter. As well as the life of a fighter. In 43, the Soviet soldier had a strict visit to the bathhouse once a week, but the Wehrmacht had soldiers who could not wash themselves for a month. So the equipment of one particular fighter is very important!

They counted on a blitzkrieg, on "warm apartments" .. And so, you are right about ammunition.

Boiler allowance at least once a day, preferably two. But with modern means of observation and reconnaissance, everything is very difficult ....

It's not about the quality of the equipment, but about its completeness. If a fighter is given an overcoat, boots and weapons, then in the example of the Second World War, you can be sure that the fighter has all this, and where he doesn’t, a convicted quartermaster will soon appear in a penal battalion. In the modern army of the Russian Federation, the completeness of equipment is different, much better, but there are strong doubts that all military personnel are provided with this equipment. As an example, 15 years ago I was guaranteed to receive a set of winter and summer uniforms, including, in addition to a pea coat, wadded pants, 2 sets of flora, new boots every six months, underwear every week. I was confident in the provision, and this was in the crisis year of 2008. And now the new uniform will be enough for everyone, apart from the rest of the equipment?

Do not distort, there was a lot even then, a lot of all sorts of garbage in the platoon property. Some kind of miniaturization has taken place, comfortable things have appeared. But without interchangeable footcloths and baths they didn’t fight

And now let's try to buy all this in Russian stores. Manturov, the other day, hoarsely to the President, about the fact that everything is enough, everything is full, the industry fulfills all needs. Yesterday I tried to buy a couple of plates from MSCHSHF - a beard, the delivery time is not known, I went to the pharmacy in order to collect a first aid kit (for fighters) - there is no nichrome! There isn’t even an esmarch! (We’ll be silent for the turnstiles) And if there is, then it costs many times more than before. Ready to burst from anger.

Yes, it has always been like that. I remember the men in the formidable were sent to the second. The guys also bought harnesses with sneakers. Well, where in the uniform come from, for example, gaskets? And many advise putting them in berets.

In some ways you are right. But when I went to the Caucasus in January 2000, the women - ensigns did not tell me that I should write to my family and friends about buying a first-aid kit, a sock, etc. Good / bad, but they gave me a first aid kit, as well as socks. Now you look at what is happening and your hair is getting cold!

Don't try. Prices soared by 30-50% in a week. And shop owners are not Ukrofascists or Western bourgeois. Nothing personal just business...

So I'm not myself, I've been buying and sending to our guys since February. A month ago, you could still buy at least something, but now your ass is full! I live in Kirov, everything is sad with salaries, I can’t buy much and expensive (the income is not great) and these price increases, the ability to help make it difficult. I myself am no longer young - it hurts here, it shoots there, there is no health to fight. All I can do is to contribute money, and here problems arose.

Thanks for the advice, of course! But judging by the videos, our MO does not pull such a package, and there is none! Even if they call me, I will go through Grozny! At least the equipment and pay are on the level there!

There was still a video yesterday, only today it was published on VO. Guys-editors, watch YouTube and Yaplakal. The channel "Volunteer Z" is also interesting, it also says literate things.
But my favorite "Military Review" publishes news with a delay, which is understandable - no one wants to fall under the law on fakes.
And yes - you need to help financially. Send at least a hundred rubles, colleagues, you will not lose. And we will help.
"Volunteer Z" look. Just in case. I do not know him, but I read the lessons. So, just in case...

Off-topic question, don’t blame me: I trained for six months as a gunner of a T80 tank, then a year I served in a remrote, in fact, without repairing tanks. In the military, the VUS is a senior mechanic for the repair of the BTT, but from me the mechanic is like a bullet out of shit, at most I opened the cover of the MTO to dismantle the gas turbine engine, poured grease into the rollers and painted the armor. When calling, they look at the vus or the classiness? Because as a gunner, I will be more useful than as a mechanic.

The military commissar looks at the VUS, the rest is of little interest to him. And how it will be then - depends on the specific officers on the spot.

Did the American Marines before Desert Storm run around the shops and buy uniforms, bandages, tourniquets, etc. with their own money? It's kind of a shame...

In the video, he has a bottomless backpack, like a magician laughing
Who can explain the thread how to place all this in a standard 60l raid backpack. ???
I take less on watch, and then the backpack is too heavy and the bag is in my hands recourse

I didn’t quite understand about the mobile phone ... The signals from the mobile phone are easy to find direction and the enemy knows online where people with cell phones are on the front line. And if you replace the base station with your own, then you can also listen ... Is this for survival?

Cell phone signals are easy to find
Break or solder the communication chips (cellular and wifi), and no one will take direction. The phone is needed as a navigator (you need to download offline maps) and as a "reader" (for any reference books, instructions).

But without experience, try to put it all in a backpack compactly and neatly and do not forget where everything is ... For many, this can be a difficult task at first, if at all a feasible task.
