Dedicated to those who left the mobilization
But since we risk being killed,
I would like to at least know
in the name of what.
Partial mobilization announced. Earlier I wrote that mobilization is an extreme measure. Extreme, because with its announcement, a war of attrition begins. Unfortunately, we had to resort to this last resort. Partially. For now.
Many people went to the military registration and enlistment offices as volunteers. Work brothers! Low bow to you! But a lot went over the hill. To Georgia, Kazakhstan, somewhere else.
What can be said about them?
A lot of statements about cowardice, weakness, purification of society have appeared in the blogosphere. But is everything so clear?
There is someone Maxim Galkin - a well-known figure, speaking in a "yellow-black" attire. In addition to contempt, this "little man" causes little.
And there is, for example, I have one friend - he has a demanded military registration specialty (VUS), has experience in participating in hostilities, he is still quite old. And he has two young children, and they are expecting a third soon. He hasn't gone anywhere yet. But he thinks a lot about his future. And there are those who have already decided to play it safe.
And here comes the problem! A problem that needs to be addressed. To avoid more serious problems in the future.
What is the picture of the world in this person's head? The picture is very difficult - he is faced with a choice: I must protect my family, which may be left without a livelihood, or I must go to fight for ...
I will allow myself to give an extensive quote with a number of abbreviations from one Kharkov semi-underground information channel.
But we do not consider it possible for ourselves to participate in the war. Not in combat, much less in any form of espionage or even outright propaganda. This war was made inevitable in eight years by the policies of many states, Ukraine and its Western "friends" above all, but Russia too. Therefore, until the war ends, we will be on the side of those who suffer from it the most: civilians ...
The real source of today's catastrophe is the coup of 2014, called the Euromaidan. Rewind the timeline: the Russian Federation would not have started its “special operation” if Ukraine had not fired on the Donbass and had not gathered troops for a large-scale offensive; Ukraine would not have shelled Donbass if there had not been a rebellion there in 2014; Donbass would not have revolted (like Crimea) if the coup had not brought to power adventurers who relied on ultranationalists. The war started in 2014...
At the same time, we do not idealize the Russian Federation. We wrote that there is definitely no right side today ...
In 2014, a direct – without cowardly disguise – Russian intervention would have stopped the fascisization of Ukraine almost bloodlessly. In 2022, direct, albeit still with disguise, intervention has so far led to the fact that Ukraine has irreversibly taken a military footing...
We still consider the Ukrainian state an absolute political evil. And we are still confident that the Russian state is better against this background. Not because it is good (it could have been, but it wasn’t), but because it is not absolute evil.
I emphasize once again - this is the opinion of the inhabitants of Kharkov. The part that is ready to take the side of Russia, but does not.
Are those who decide to leave weaklings?
I cannot answer this question.
Formally and legally in this conflict, Russia is the attacking side. With all the ensuing risks of such an interpretation and their consequences.
I understand that the reasons that forced the country's leadership to take these risks must be very weighty. But these reasons in the subconscious remain not very clear and somewhat abstract. And when choosing: unclear arguments or my family, it will be very difficult to decide.
This is a big problem! And it must be solved! Now it is relatively local. But with (God forbid) mass mobilization, it will become huge.
What are we doing to solve this problem?
For now, we're pretending it's not there. We brush it off with the words: “Those are cowards. These are weaklings. This is the cleansing of Russia from an undesirable element.
Is it so? Or is it much deeper?
How do we want to end this war? Like in 1945 or like in 1917?
The problem must be solved!
One more thing. Lately, I've been noticing some very disturbing things in the war blogosphere. Mats began to appear in them more often.
In the first weeks of the war, they wrote a lot that there was a lot of swearing in Ukrainian publics. And this was presented as a sign of the degradation of Ukrainian society. Dear military correspondents, let's not be like degenerates.
In conclusion, one more quote from the Russian guys from Kharkov:
Together with her, all of us, scattered throughout the former Soviet republics, people of different nationalities, but at the same time people of the Russian language and Russian culture, will lose.
