What a Recruit Needs to Know About Tactical Medicine: An Army Medic Explains
Partial mobilization has been announced in Russia since September 19. The men who received the summons are provided with all the necessary uniforms and are sent to undergo training, as well as the coordination of military units.
At the same time, during a military conflict, a fighter must not only have the skills to use one or another weapons, but also to know the necessary basics of tactical medicine. After all, every minute of delay in helping the wounded can cost him his life.
It is worth noting that the first-aid kits of the military personnel of the RF Armed Forces have all the necessary means to save the life and health of a wounded soldier. At the same time, there are nuances of their use, which will be useful for recruits to know.
In particular, in addition to medicines and other means, a marker must be present in a tactical first-aid kit. Preferably permanent, which will not be erased when transporting a wounded soldier.
After applying a tourniquet and administering an anesthetic, it is imperative to write the date and time of the manipulation on any part of the fighter's body. In the case of a tourniquet, this will help save the wounded limb.
Information about the time of administration of the painkiller will be needed by the anesthesiologist, who will not be able to make other drug injections without knowing what the fighter was injected with earlier.
Also, one of the specific means in a tactical first-aid kit is a special plaster, which is used for lung damage (pneumothorax). It is important to seal the inlet and outlet of the wound as quickly as possible. In case of delay, the fighter may lose his lung.
However, there are other nuances that the military medic shares in the video below from the Russkiy Dom channel.
