After the referendums and the possible entry of new regions into the Russian Federation, a new Federal District may be formed
Today, in four regions that were once Ukrainian, referendums on joining the Russian Federation are ending. According to preliminary data, the referenda took place. And most likely, the overwhelming majority voted for reunification with Russia, although, for the sake of formality, it is worth waiting for official calculations.
Political scientists suggest that as a result of the appearance of four new subjects in the Russian Federation, a new Federal District may be organized. In addition to the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the republics of Donbass, the Republic of Crimea can also enter it. The name of the new federal district will be appropriate - the Crimean Federal District. The former general director of Roskosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, may head the new embassy. They write about it "Vedomosti" with reference to unnamed sources in the defense industry enterprise and close to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
The latter told the publication that a decision on the appointment of Rogozin could be made in the near future and it would most likely be positive. On Staraya Ploshchad, they believe that in order to manage the new federal district, given the difficult situation in the former Ukrainian territories, a “political heavyweight” is needed. As stated, Rogozin, who proved himself when he was the head of a state corporation, is considered to be such, the Kremlin is sure that he is not only a good leader, but also a very patriotic and loyal politician.
- they quote the statement of a Vedomosti source close to the Presidential Administration.
After Rogozin's resignation from the post of head of Roskosmos, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Dmitry Olegovich would be employed: "he will have a new job." A source in Roskosmos told reporters about the new appointment of the former head of the state corporation that he "would like this appointment."
Today, in four regions that were previously part of Ukraine, the last, in-person, day of voting will take place. According to preliminary data, over the previous four days of door-to-door voting, the turnout was distributed as follows: in the DPR, almost 87% took part in the referendum; in the LPR - more than 83%; in the Kherson region - over 63,5%; in Zaporozhye - almost 66,5%. Thus, the required turnout threshold of 50% has been overcome in all four regions.
It is expected that the results of the vote count will be announced tomorrow. The procedure for admitting new subjects to Russia can be completed within two to three days - taking into account the experience of annexing Crimea, all procedures for legitimizing this process have been worked out. The point on the issue of joining the territories can be set as early as September 30th. On this day, the official address of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly is expected.
In the case of the formation of the Crimean Federal District, it will not have five, but six subjects - after all, according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Sevastopol is a city of federal significance, it is a separate subject of the Russian Federation.
Experts believe that after the entry of new subjects into the Russian Federation and the emergence of a new western border of the state, the status of the NWO may change to at least a counter-terrorist operation (CTO). Earlier, the Russian leadership, including Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly stated that after that military strikes on new territories will be considered as "aggression against Russia", in response to which Moscow will use "the entire arsenal of available means."
Recall that the Crimean Federal District existed in 2014-2016, after which the Crimean Peninsula was administratively transferred to the Southern Federal District (SFD).
