US press: Zelensky hopes in vain for an increase in arms supplies, the West has cooled off towards Ukraine
Zelensky hopes in vain for the help of Western countries in the supply of heavy armored vehicles, including Tanksand the buildup of military aid. According to Bloomberg, this will not happen, the West has cooled off towards Ukraine.
The American edition talked to high-ranking officials from the European Union, who bluntly said that Europe is already tired of Zelensky's wishes, and weapons are running out in the arsenals of European countries. Therefore, no sharp increases in supplies weapons There will be no Kyiv, even despite the referendums held by Russia. The United States is also showing "reasonable caution" in deliveries by imposing a ban on the supply of tanks to Ukraine. Brussels also does not express any intention to supply tanks.
According to sources, Germany, which could act as a supplier of tanks to Kyiv, not only does not supply them itself, but also imposed a ban on the transfer of German tanks by other countries, in particular Spain. Italy is gradually moving away from arms supplies to Ukraine, hiding behind statements about a lack of funds. So Zelensky's emissaries sent by him to various countries are left without Western weapons.
However, despite the sounding statements, neither the US nor Europe will abandon Ukraine at the moment, too much money has been invested in this project, but there is still no return. Therefore, the supply of weapons will continue, albeit not in such volumes. Here the main role will be played by the United States, which has "something left" in warehouses, but will focus on medium and long-term projects. Washington is planning to support Kyiv for years to come with the supply of weapons to it, as well as the complete re-equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Western models of weapons. In the meantime, the efforts of the US military are focused on finding and supplying Kyiv with the remnants of Soviet armored vehicles. So the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive tanks, but there are almost no Soviet ones, such as the T-55S from Slovenia, the T-72.
