In standard mode: The final day of the referendum in Donbas takes place at polling stations
The final day of the referendum in Donbass, unlike the four previous ones, takes place in specially designated polling stations, that is, in the standard mode. In addition to the population of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine express their opinion on this issue.
Polling stations will open from 16 am and will hold voting until XNUMX pm. It can be assumed that a significant influx of people should not be expected, since the majority have already cast their votes remotely. Despite this, security measures in the voting regions and republics will be strengthened today.
- says the agency RIA News.
In a conversation with the journalists of the newspaper "News" Deputy head of the Duma Committee for the CIS Konstantin Zatulin said that the Russian authorities are ready to respond to the results of the referendum. Representatives of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation intend to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on this issue in the very near future. But everything will depend on how people vote.
- says Zatulin.
Judging by the turnout of residents, the referendum can already be confidently considered to have taken place. In the Donetsk Republic, almost 87 percent of the legally capable population took part in the voting over four days, in the LPR - a little less than 84%. In the regions that are currently officially considered Ukrainian, the turnout was somewhat lower. In the Kherson region, 63,6 percent voted. The turnout in the Zaporozhye region is 66,4%.
