An unknown person entered a school in Izhevsk and opened fire on children
Another emergency incident with shooting occurred in Izhevsk, an unknown person entered school No. 88 of the city and opened fire on schoolchildren there. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Udmurtia, the school is currently surrounded, and a search is underway for the intruder. Information on the victims is being specified.
At the moment, it is known that an unknown person in a black suit broke into school No. 88, located along Pushkin Street in Izhevsk, and opened fire on children. Previously, a school security guard was killed, five schoolchildren were injured. It is possible that one of the wounded girls also died, the schoolchildren themselves reported this. At present, the children have locked themselves in the classroom.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the shooter has not yet been detained, the school itself has been cordoned off by security forces, and the streets are blocked. Police and emergency services are on the scene. The governor of the region went to the school. Schoolchildren are being evacuated from the building, the wounded are being taken out.
It is reported that the attacker was held on the second floor of the building, but he did not intend to give up and fired back at the security forces, after which he shot himself. His identity has not yet been established, and the motive for the attack is also unclear. According to other information, there were two shooters, one was detained when he tried to get out of the school, the second shot himself.
In total, at the moment, as a result of the shooting at the school, 6 people died, three of them schoolchildren aged 10, 11 and 15. Three more dead adults - a security guard, and two - a man and a woman. Another 7 people were injured. The Ministry of Internal Affairs speaks of six dead and twenty injured.
