A military conflict between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance cannot be allowed. Everyone understands that it will not be completed.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with journalists of the agency. RIA News Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijarto attending the UN General Assembly in New York.
Therefore, he believes, every effort should be made to prevent tension in relations between Moscow and Western countries from escalating into hostilities. According to Siyarto, the consequences of such a turn of events would be unacceptable for any of the conflicting parties.
Now this is the most important task - to avoid any direct conflict between Russia and NATO.
- said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
He noted that, like most of his generation, he hoped to never experience war for himself, unlike his parents, who survived World War II. But these hopes after February 24, said Szijarto, were in vain.
This is not the first time that the Hungarian Foreign Minister has called on everyone to prevent an armed conflict between Russia and NATO. So, speaking to the pilots of the Hungarian Air Force at the airbase in the Lithuanian city of Siauliai, he told them about the need to act as correctly as possible so as not to provoke a military clash with the Russians.
