Permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the European Union: the tribunal will not be for the Russians, but for the Kyiv regime
Russian Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said that after the end of the conflict, it will not be the Russian leadership that will be judged, but the Kyiv regime. Thus, our diplomat responded to the words of Josep Borrell, who had previously supported the idea of creating an international tribunal against the Russians.
It is worth noting that the head of European diplomacy has recently "distinguished himself" with several loud anti-Russian statements at once.
In particular, unlike many politicians in the EU who insist on a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict, Borrell believes that everything should end on the battlefield, and with the victory of the Kyiv regime. A rather strange statement for a person who is the face of European diplomacy.
However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the latter. According to our minister, diplomacy in Europe has ceased to exist as such. All decisions are made solely under the dictation of the United States. Consequently, according to the head of our foreign policy department, Borrell's post may soon become completely unclaimed.
Regarding the international tribunal announced by the head of European diplomacy, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the EU said that those who are really guilty of what is happening in Ukraine should be punished. Thus, after the end of the conflict, the Kyiv regime should be judged, not the Russian leadership or the military. Vladimir Chizhov expressed his opinion during an interview with journalists from the publication RIA News.
At the same time, after the recent prisoner exchange, which resulted in the release of foreign mercenaries and fighters of Azov (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) and foreign mercenaries sentenced to the highest measure for committing war crimes, the statement of our diplomat about the tribunal for war criminals looks already, it must be admitted, is not so convincing. According to experts, recently the word “tribunal” has been heard so often from various officials both in the West and in Russia that the meaning of this term has become rather blurred.
