“Winter will be big”: Gazprom showed a video with European cities without Russian gas
113
The Russian company Gazprom has released a video that is being actively discussed online. Moreover, this discussion is mainly taking place in Ukraine and in the West.
In its video, Gazprom makes it clear what can be expected by those countries whose governments plan to look for “alternative energy sources” this winter by continuing to support anti-Russian sanctions and declaring that they definitely intend to refuse cooperation with Russia in terms of natural gas trade.
Under the music track “Winter will be big,” the video shows footage of the pressure drop in the gas pipeline to zero and frozen city blocks. After that, the video sequence shows windmills and solar panels with a clear hint that the EU will definitely not be able to heat their cities in the winter using these sources of “green” energy.
Meanwhile, the price of gas in Europe continues to seek the "optimal" value. Moreover, this value is currently in the range from 2000 to 3000 dollars per thousand cubic meters. At the beginning of the day on September 6, the price was at around $2500. At such prices, to ensure the smooth operation of the European economy and provide the population with heat, the EU will have to pay additional tens, or even hundreds, of billions of dollars from the budget.
In Ukraine and in the West, Gazprom's video was called "an attempt at energy blackmail." And in this case, how to call the imposition of sanctions by the West against the energy sector of Russia?..
