Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan held talks with Volodymyr Zelensky in Lviv
Turkish foreign policy provides for maintaining, as far as possible, trusting relations with Kyiv and Moscow at the same time. At the moment, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks in Lviv with the head of the Ukrainian state, Volodymyr Zelensky.
This was reported by the Turkish TV channel A Haber.
According to journalists from Turkey, Erdogan intends to become an intermediary for organizing a meeting between Zelensky and the Russian leader.
The third participant in the talks in Lvov is UN Secretary General António Guterres. CNN Turk says the two presidents and the secretary general will discuss drawing up a plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. In particular, it is planned to discuss a deal on the export of grain from Ukraine, as well as the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the detention center with Ukrainian prisoners.
The meeting place was historical Lviv building - Potocki Palace.
Erdogan arrived in Ukraine at the invitation of Zelensky. He flew by plane to the Polish city of Rzeszow, from where he traveled by land to the main city of Western Ukraine. In Poland, he was met by the local governor, Radoslav Viatr, and the Turkish ambassador to Warsaw, Chingiz Kamil Euphrates.
Together with the President of Turkey, the ministers of foreign affairs, defense, agriculture and forestry, and trade arrived in Lviv for negotiations. The Turkish delegation also includes other politicians and officials. Among them, it is worth noting Haluk Bayraktar, the general director of the Baikar company, which produces Drones Bayraktar.
The meeting has just ended. According to Zelensky, they discussed military cooperation, a deal on grain and the situation at the ZNPP.
