Medvedev: In winter, in company with Russia, it is much warmer and more comfortable than in splendid isolation
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev spoke in his telegram channel about a serious split between Western elites and ordinary citizens.
According to the politician, while the governments of the EU states, especially the Baltic states, are trying to break all ties with our country and abandon everything Russian, ordinary Europeans hold radically different views.
Residents of the European Union, despite the all-out propaganda of the Western media, have already begun to realize that it is much more profitable to maintain partnership relations with Russia. European manufacturers want to get access to our market again, cafe and restaurant owners want to receive Russian visitors. And in general, to live as before, without freezing in winter in their own apartments.
Moreover, Medvedev noted that EU citizens have already perfectly understood that all those "terrible" sanctions that are introduced to "weaken" the Russian economy are being implemented at their expense. This is clearly seen in store prices and utility bills.
In support of his words, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation cited data from opinion polls, according to which more than half of citizens from the EU states do not want to break off relations with Russia. In addition, about 90% of Europeans categorically refuse to fight with our country, and about 60% are no longer ready to support anti-Russian sanctions.
Medvedev noted that people's discontent has already been expressed in the resignation of four governments in Europe. But this, unfortunately, is still not enough.
The politician called on ordinary Europeans to call their authorities to account and stop paying for the so-called "European democracy" out of their own pockets.
