Russian Ministry of Defense laid responsibility for the possible consequences of a provocation with a reconnaissance aircraft on the UK

The Russian Ministry of Defense warns the UK against carrying out a provocation with a reconnaissance aircraft and warns that its consequences will lie solely on the British side. This is stated in the statement of the Russian military department.
As the military explained, the UK has applied for a flight of the RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft of the Royal Air Force along the route, passing, among other things, over the territory of Russia. The Ministry of Defense warned London that they consider this application as a deliberate provocation and said that all the consequences of deliberate actions would lie solely with the UK. The Russian Aerospace Forces received an order to prevent airspace violations.
The UK has filed an application with a flight plan (flight plan - VO note) for the flight of a British RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft along a route that also runs over the territory of the Russian Federation. We regard this action as a deliberate provocation.
- said in the message of the defense department.
Recall that on the eve of the British RC-135 electronic intelligence and electronic warfare aircraft "probe" Russian air defense in the North, violating the airspace of the Russian Federation in the area of Cape Svyatoy Nos in the Barents Sea. The air defense forces on duty lifted a MIG-31BM fighter-interceptor into the air, which forced the British aircraft out of Russian airspace.
Apparently, London did not understand the warning and intend to arrange another provocation, the consequences of which can be quite serious, up to the destruction of the aircraft. Earlier, the Federation Council warned that the British were "playing with fire", deliberately going to violate the state border of Russia.
