“Not related to current events in the world”: the United States held a delayed launch of Minuteman III ICBMs

21

The United States finally conducted a test launch of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile, previously delayed due to a visit to Taiwan by Nancy Pelosi. As stated in the command of the global strike, the test of the rocket has nothing to do with the events taking place in the world.

According to the US Air Force, the test launch of ICBMs has traditionally been carried out from a silo at Vandenberg Air Force Base, located 130 miles northwest of Los Angeles. It is worth noting that the base is now part of the US Space Force. The missile was launched without a charge, but with a test warhead. As stated, the purpose of the test was to demonstrate the "readiness of nuclear forces" of the United States.

Air Force Global Strike Command troops fired an unloaded Minuteman III ICBM equipped with a re-entry test warhead

- said in a statement.

Minuteman III is the only land-based intercontinental ballistic missile currently in service with the United States since 1970. The three-stage missile was developed specifically for confrontation with the Soviet Union. The Minuteman III ICBM is capable of hitting a target at a range of 12 kilometers with three warheads. According to reports, the United States has about 450 ICBMs in service, the service life of which expires in 2030.

Now the Americans are creating a new ICBM, which should replace the Minuteman III. The work is being carried out by Northrop Grumman, which successfully defended the project of a new promising strategic ballistic missile GBSD last year. Details of the development of the new ICBM are not disclosed. Under the terms of the contract, the rocket must use Mk.12A and Mk.21 warheads from Minuteman-III ICBMs, and also be able to be placed both in mines and on mobile platforms.

But, nevertheless, it does not become less deadly. Ukraine has already been "thrown with hats." ..

which is over 50 years old?

Yes, at least 100 years. Or is Russia now building a missile defense system in Mexico or Venezuela?
But their missile defense system in Eastern Europe will only expand. It is for this reason that Russia is improving its nuclear triad. And the Yankees have nowhere to hurry.

Got it, I just didn't talk about it. And about "not connected in any way" and "it was demonstrated". If it is not connected in any way, then it was not worth demonstrating. And if they did, then it has something to do with it. hi

Here the Yankees, if necessary, will use their nuclear weapons without hesitation. Simply, there are no serious competitors in the world against whom SUCH weapons should be used!

Well, the Americans fired a $200 Tomahawk at a herd of donkeys worth $100.
Americans always want to hit someone with a nuclear weapon. To show coolness. Yes, here's the problem. One retaliatory strike on Wall Street is enough for a fat, fluffy polar fox to come to the USA. For 80% of world trade passes through this street. Moreover, all imports, oil and clothes.

They fixed it all the same ... the Americans. By the way, they don’t report whether it was successful or not.
