Italian communists call for country's exit from the EU
The situation in the European Union continues to deteriorate. Many European politicians are coming to the realization that the Commonwealth, which supposedly is an independent political and economic player, is in fact completely controlled by the United States.
A vivid example confirming the above is the anti-Russian sanctions policy of the EU, imposed by Washington, which has already led to disastrous consequences for European economies. At the same time, they cannot cancel their restrictions without permission from the “overseas hosts” in Brussels.
Realizing the futility of development within the EU, some European politicians began to talk about the need for their countries to leave the Commonwealth. It was with this call that Alberto Lombardo, head of the international relations department of the Communist Party of Italy, made the day before.
During an interview with an agency RIA News, the politician said that the European Union today has lost its sovereignty. Brussels is completely controlled by the US.
Therefore, according to Lombardo, the best option for Italy in this case is to leave the EU, abandoning, as he puts it, the “fictitious currency” of the euro and all obligations incumbent on his country within the framework of the commonwealth.
It is worth noting that the statements of the representative of the Communist Party of Italy look quite sighted. However, there is one caveat.
For at least the last 10 years, Italy has been on the verge of default. At the same time, the country's external debt continues to grow. If back in 2011 this indicator was about 120% of GDP, then at the moment it has already exceeded 150%.
In fact, for more than a decade, the Italian economy has been supported largely by subsidies from the EU. In this regard, it is difficult to say whether a country with such a huge debt will be able to go on its own.
