The British military doubts the ability of the Russian army to operate simultaneously in the Donbass and southern Ukraine
Almost six months after the start of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine, the command of the Russian Armed Forces is allegedly struggling with a “strategic puzzle”: attack in the Donbas or defend in the south. But practice shows that allied forces solve combat missions in several directions simultaneously.
According to the American magazine 19FortyFive, this is evidenced by the regular report of the British Ministry of Defense on military operations on Ukrainian territory, which is now published daily.
The British military doubts the ability of the Russian army to simultaneously operate in the Donbass and southern Ukraine. They believe that its actions cannot be equally effective in two directions at once. True, the authors of the report note that two different forces are involved in these areas.
In the Donbass theater of operations, offensive operations are carried out to a greater extent by the forces of the 1st and 2nd army corps of the DPR and LPR. In particular, they are actively operating in the Artemovsk direction.
In the south, according to the publication, the Russian military continues to concentrate forces, transferring them from other fronts. They, according to the authors of the report, are preparing to repulse the likely counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against Kherson and the part of the Zaporozhye region taken under the control of the Russian Federation.
On the other hand, the West fears that soon Russia itself will launch active offensive operations in the Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov regions. In particular, British intelligence MI-6 claims that the Russian military is now intensively training operators on simulators. drones to detect and suppress the defensive nodes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in these areas.
