Washington Post: Ukraine's offensive on Kherson is canceled again, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have enough weapons for this
The American newspaper The Washington Post reported in great secrecy, citing an anonymous source of a representative of the Ukrainian special services, that the attack on Kherson, which had been repeatedly announced by Kyiv, was again postponed. The thing is that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have enough weapons to defeat the Russian troops at least on this sector of the front.
- the interlocutor of the publication from an unnamed special service commented rather ornately on the situation.
The essence of this most intelligent Ukrainian strategy was explained to WP by another expert on military affairs in general and the situation in Ukraine in particular, American expert Dmitry Alperovich from the analytical company Silverado Policy Accelerator. In his opinion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not need to attack at all - everything will happen by itself. This truly "great" military analyst believes that Russia itself will soon withdraw its troops from Kherson due to the recent attack on the air base in Crimea and UAF strikes on the supply routes of the Russian army on the western bank of the Dnieper.
WP also quoted the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Yuriy Sak, who, unlike the vague formulations of the anonymous intelligence officer, was more specific, but could not resist the usual anti-Russian reports:
Surprising cynicism shines through in the words of Sak, who does not seem to know how much "cannon fodder" the Kyiv regime daily throws into the furnace of the Donbass Front. Or is there no question of price?
It is worth paying tribute to the American journalists, this time they did not simply quote the expert's victorious reports and the promises of the Ukrainian specialist, but tried to assess the situation in the Kherson direction more objectively. The publication writes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are significantly inferior here to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in artillery and armored vehicles, which are not enough even to organize a full-fledged defense, and not just an offensive.
In addition, Ukrainian soldiers report the arrival of reinforcements on the other side of the front. A Ukrainian serviceman told reporters that over the past week alone, about 15 Russian servicemen arrived in the Kherson region, bringing the number of Russian troops on the western bank of the Dnieper to at least XNUMX. At the same time, a more objective expert from the Conflict Intelligence analytical group, Kirill Mikhailov, told the newspaper that most of the replenishment is military from elite airborne units that help strengthen depleted formations.
So, summing up the investigations of American journalists, we can assume that there will most likely be an offensive in the Kherson direction. Just not to the east, but to the west. And in Kyiv, once again, they will come up with some kind of cunning strategy, why the Armed Forces of Ukraine again retreated in this direction. Most likely, the West will again be to blame, which did not supply the required number of weapons.
