Maria Zakharova expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the UN Secretary General on the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

According to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at the earlier meeting of the UN Security Council on the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the speech of the secretary general of this organization was rather strange. Guterres did not say anything about Kyiv's responsibility for what is happening around the nuclear power plant, for shelling the plant.
Zakharova also considers the UN Secretary General guilty of disrupting the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which was practically agreed upon and prepared at the beginning of the summer. She expressed concern that this could happen again in the preparation of subsequent trips of IAEA representatives to nuclear power plants.
If overseas and in European capitals are really interested in the mission to take place, now there is an opportunity to prove themselves and put their wards in their place
- noted Zakharova.
According to a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian authorities interfere with the dispatch of the IAEA mission to Zaporozhye, and their Western patrons deny the obvious facts of the shelling of the nuclear power plant by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The West is ready to write off any sins to the Kyiv authorities, even if the victims are the inhabitants of Europe, Zakharova believes.
Recall that the situation around the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye was discussed at a special meeting of the UN Security Council on August 11. UN Secretary General António Guterres called for the creation of a demilitarized zone around the station. This proposal was received with skepticism by the Russian side, since the creation of such a zone would be used by Kyiv for provocations.
