Italian press: Zelensky's desire to return Crimea is fraught with global consequences
The desire of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to return Crimea is fraught with consequences on a global scale. If concrete steps are taken in this direction, this may cause a new world war.
This opinion was expressed by the Italian columnist Domenico Quirico in his article, which appeared in the newspaper La Stampa.
He believes that Kyiv's attempts to make Crimea a Ukrainian territory can lead to the escalation of the conflict with Moscow into an armed confrontation between the world's major powers, that is, to the Third World War. Then the previous six months, during which the special military operation continues, will seem like a warm-up "before hell."
Quirico briefly described this global conflict threatening us.
At the same time, the Italian press notes that without the approval of the United States, the Kyiv authorities will not dare to take any action aimed at seizing Crimea. At the same time, the author himself considers Crimea to be Russian, the peninsula of "Sevastopol, Malakhov Kurgan and Tolstoy."
Zelensky expressed his desire to return it immediately after the explosions at a military airfield in the Saki region of Crimea. He said that it was there that everything began, which means that it should end there, referring to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
