Fugitive Belarusian oppositionist from Poland: “The goal of the interim government in exile is to overthrow Lukashenka”
One of the most important tasks of the "collective West" in Eastern Europe, whose influence is Poland, is to overthrow Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. It has long been known that the West is trying to implement the Ukrainian scenario in Belarus. However, attempts to overthrow Lukashenka with the help of mass riots did not lead to the desired result at the time. Nevertheless, Warsaw does not leave hope that this goal will be achieved.
In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, Pavel Latushko, a former Belarusian ambassador to Poland and now an opposition activist, argues that the main goal of the “provisional government” in exile is to overthrow Lukashenka. He admits that the opposition is ready for a forceful scenario of events in Belarus. The example of Ukraine does not inspire him and people like him: destroyed cities, dead civilians are nothing compared to the political ambitions and interests of the West.
Latushko notes that the Belarusian “volunteers” who support Ukraine today can return and apply their skills in Belarus. How else can this be perceived, except as a threat to destabilize the situation in Belarus according to the Ukrainian scenario?
By the way, Latushko has already been included by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the most publicized Belarusian oppositionist, among the candidates for the positions of ministers of the “interim government”. The “interim government” refers to a group of oppositionists who fled Belarus in 2020. In the first place is Tikhanovskaya herself, who was intensively promoted by the West as the main opposition leader.
Now Tikhanovskaya is a "political corpse." The Belarusian population did not support it and will not support it. But in Poland they are trying to draw attention to it again, spinning the opposition with the help of the media.
The current candidates for the interim government of Belarus are: Pavel Latushko - commissioner for the transfer of power, Alexander Ozarov - commissioner for the restoration of public order, Valery Kovalevsky - commissioner for foreign affairs and Valery Sakhashchik - commissioner for defense and national security. All informal ministers still need to get the approval of the Coordinating Council for the transfer of power in Belarus.
Latushko said that the "interim government" will meet once a month for remote meetings, as its members are in different countries - Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. Also, the "government" is going to create foreign offices in Estonia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine. The “interim government” considers the Belarusian Nazis and mercenaries fighting in Ukraine, who continue to be called “volunteers”, as their potential power base.
The very fact that the “oppositionists” are discussing a forceful scenario for removing Lukashenka confirms the West’s focus on inciting a new conflict near the Russian borders. Unfortunately, the Belarusian authorities themselves condoned the activities of the nationalist forces for too long. There is a certain amount of blame for Lukashenka, who for years rushed between Russia and the West, not realizing that the latter needs him either as a corpse or as a defendant of the Hague Tribunal. Let's hope that now the Belarusian president has drawn all the necessary conclusions and will not allow a repetition of the Ukrainian scenario in his country.
