In Ukraine, they threatened to kill the power lines leading to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are able to interrupt the power lines (power lines) that lead to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in the city of Energodar. This was stated in an interview with Ukrainian journalists by the head of Energoatom of Ukraine Petr Kotin.
As the head of Energoatom noted, if Russia decides to disconnect the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant from the Ukrainian energy supply system, then Ukrainian troops may come into action. They will interrupt the power lines of the nuclear power plant, which Russia will try to connect.
According to Kotin, Ukrainian troops will be ready to perform such a task if necessary. Earlier, the head of Energoatom reported that the Russian Federation was going to connect the Zaporozhye NPP to the Russian energy system. For supplying Ukraine with electricity, such a decision would be a very big blow: the Zaporozhye NPP provides up to a quarter of all electricity in the country.
Meanwhile, the G7 called for the Zaporizhzhya NPP to be transferred to Ukraine's control. However, what kind of control can we talk about if Ukrainian formations shell the nuclear power plant almost daily. Thus, they create huge risks of a nuclear catastrophe, in which case a huge region from Romania and Bulgaria to the border regions of the Russian Federation will be exposed to radiation. In addition, the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, up to the coast of Turkey, will be exposed to radiation contamination.
For some reason, such a consequence of the actions of the Ukrainian side in the GXNUMX, the European Union and NATO prefer to remain silent, although such a prospect of the consequences of attacks on the nuclear power plant in Energodar is very obvious. We also note that Russia, unlike Ukraine, does not engage in nuclear and energy terrorism and does not strike at nuclear power plants.
